It hits me again and again,
such as when swimming
But harder,
stronger,
unrelenting.
It hits me in waves,
Almost drowning me
But it never slows.
It tosses and turns
It throws me every which way
It doesn't care
It hits me again,
I try to prepare
But it is always there first
Before I can get one more breath.
This hits me where it matters most.
This ocean darkness is terrifying
