Is there such a place
That we can belong
She doesn't fit anywhere
And it's hard to be strong
She wants a place to be herself
And people to accept it
Maybe she only needs one
She just wants you to accept her
She's surrounded yet alone
Because nobody listens
They only see with their eyes
And can't read behind the lies
It's ok, it's alright
Because we don't see your plight
Take no notice of this girl
Who has irrational fright
She is unreasonable
And doesn't care
She is cut off from the world
So why do they stare?
I get it, I do
You want somebody to blame
You can't accept her
And will put out the flame
Just because she is different
And can't be read
Let's ignore her words
And tear her down instead
She's misunderstood
And would change if she could
But she is fine this way
And fine alone
And she will remain this way
Until that day
Because she is not changing
And looking for a place to belong
All she needs is one person
To make a difference
And notice the words
And the silence alike
And takes the bad along with good
And she can be understood
She's alright being alone, yet...
still wants a place to call her own
