i guess i fell asleep that afternoon, as everything was just perfect for a nap, but sadly enough, i was left on the ground alone.
i got up and called yeri, as she was most likely to answer her phone right away.
as expected, she picked up after the second ring.
a mechanical version of her voice rang out. a simple greeting i had no time for.
i had to meet up with them as soon as possible.
i had to meet son something.

– you guys are at the ice cream shop, right?
– as usual. come join, they've restocked your favourite flavour!
– is son something there yet??
– no, she's gonna arrive soon though, so you better hurry!

i stood up and ran to our local ice cream shop, hoping to arrive before she did. once i reached the place, i went inside to go order.
mint with chocolate chips, of course.

before i could order, a girl bumped into me while trying to decide what flavour to pick.
she was so pretty.

– excuse me, what do you recommend here? i'm pretty new in this town, she said with a nervous chuckle.
– their french vanilla is the most popular one, so i suggest that one for your first time.
she thanked me and we stuck close together as she was ordering. i bought mine and went outside to join my friends, and to wait for son something.
weirdly enough though, son something was right behind me as i sat down, holding a french vanilla ice cream and smiling down at me.
and she was so pretty.

she sat down beside me after greeting everyone and we all started talking.
just random and empty conversations, anything to fill the silence that we could have.
out of nowhere, joy asks a question that we sort of forgot to ask at first.
her name.

– i'm son seungwan, or wendy. i prefer the latter, but it's your decision, she answered with a warm smile.
