It was a cold winters day and I was walking to school. I was wearing my favorite sweater, it was maroon and was way to big for my body. As I was walking down the crooked sidewalk birds flew overhead in the grey sky. I continued down the path to the school I hate. Watergate High, or as the students commonly refer to it as Hellgate High.

It was awful. The teachers didn't know how to teach and they were all very full of themselves. The people who attended the school weren't much better than the teachers. Many of them were very stuck up and believed they were better than everyone. Not all of the students were like that though. Some of them were the kindest people you would ever meet. Some were quiet and didn't talk much. Then there was me.

I didn't really fit in with the others, mainly because I was the new kid that was to shy and scared to talk to new people. I only had a small group of friends that weren't really my friends. They were just people I sat next to during lunch so I don't look lonely. They didn't talk and smelled of alcohol and drugs. Besides them it was just me.

Well anyway I walked to the front door and someone opened the door in my face and knocked my bag off of my back. All of my books and materials fell all over the place. The tall guy who opened the door was wearing a red and white letterman's jacket that had a foot ball on it, it smelled of cheap cologne.

I apologized and we picked up my belongings together. This is possibly the dumbest thing that has ever happened in my life. We both reached for the same paper and touched hands. You've seen it in the movies, well it happened to me in real life. Instead of it being cute it was just really awkward and I wanted to die.

After my bag was back together and on my back again, we gave each other awkward eye contact and walked in opposite directions.
