Chapter Eight

The dismissal bell woke me up from my seventh hour nap and I was tired. I left the school as fast as possible to get home to go to sleep. I was walking my path when I heard someone call my name.

"Hey Jack!"

"Oh, hey kitty."

"What's up?"

"Not much just walking home."

"Oh, I was gonna ask if you wanted to go get something to eat"

"See I would, I'm just too tired."

"Oh, I understand. Well here's my number in case you change your mind."

She handed me a torn piece of pink paper that had various arrangements of sparkles, unicorns, and rainbows on it.

"If I wake up and I'm hungry I'll definitely text you."

"Awesome, well this is me. I'll talk to you later."

"Bye."

"Byeeee."

I continued down the sidewalk until I got home. My mom had our usual after school discussion then I went back to my room. I threw myself on the bed and went to sleep.

5:00 pm

I suddenly woke up and was very hungry. What are the odds. On the day I said if I woke up and was hungry I would text her, I woke up and was hungry. Well guess I better text her.

"Hey, is this kitty?"

She answered almost immediately.

"Yep, I'm assuming this is jack. R u hungry?"

"Yes actually, and I know the perfect place to go."

"Gucci, where?"

"Sammy's Dinner."

"I'll see u there."

I slowly got up then combed my hair. I walked out of my room and sneaked passed my mom who was asleep on the couch. I walked out the front door and headed over to Sammy's. After the 10 minute walk I arrived and saw Kitty.

"Hey Kitty."

"Hi Jack."

"Lets eat."

We walked inside and waited to be seated. A waitress asked us if we wanted a table or a booth and we said booth. We sat down and looked at our menus.

"What are you getting Jack?"

"Uhhmm, the chicken cesar salad I guess, what about you."

"I'm probably going to get the vegetarian spaghetti."

"Sounds good, are you vegetarian?"

"Sometimes."

"What does that even mean?"

"You know, I don't really know myself."

"Interesting."

"Yep."

The waitress walked up and took our orders and left.

"So jack, anyone special in your life."

"Seems to be a popular question, no. But I am kind of into this guy right now."

"Wait, really. I didn't realize you were... well you know."

"Gay? Yes i am. What about you?"

"Nope. I'm not ready to date anyone, I just got out of a bad relationship."

"Oh really. I hope you don't mind my asking but what happened?"

"Just an abusive asshole who thought it was okay to verbally and physically harm people."

"I'm so sorry."

"Don't worry about it, it's in the past."

"Well I'm sorry it happened. You know what, I'm gonna get you a milkshake."

"You really don't have to, it's fine."

"No I want to."

I signaled the waitress over to our table. I ordered two chocolate milkshakes.

"I hope you like chocolate."

"Love it."

"Good."

We got our food and just talked about our lives. We talked about our personal lives, our social lives, just anything and everything. We finished eating about two hours after getting there and talked the entire time. After we payed the bill we walked outside.

"This was really fun, thanks for actually talking to me."

"No problem kitty, thank you."

We hugged and said our goodbyes then we both went home. I don't know why I was being social all of a sudden but I'm glad I was. I wouldn't have any friends If I wasn't.
