Chapter Seven

I walked out of fifth hour and walked towards the cafeteria. I got my lunch and headed towards my table. I passed by Alex and gave him a subtle wave. When I got to my table there was someone new at the table.

The girl was wearing a black shirt that had Fairy Tail anime characters on it with dark red shorts that had three buttons. She had heigh top black converse with multi colored socks. Her brown hair was long on one side and shaved on the other. I sat there for a while deciding wether I should talk to her or not. Well, I did.

"Hi, I'm Jack Rose, are you new?"

"Uhh, yeah. I'm Tallia Baker, but my friends called me Kitty at my old school."

"Well Kitty, it's nice to meet you."

"You too, Jack."

"So, where did you come from?"

"Why do you want to know."

"Just curious, you look sort of familiar."

"Probably just look like someone."

"You aren't from Rockwood High?"

"No, I was homeschooled."

"But you said your friends at your old school called you kitty."

"Maybe you should stop being so observant."

"I'll stop being observant when you stop being distant and mysterious."

"Ok Sherlock you caught me."

We laughed. Her laugh seemed sort of broken, like she had been hurt in some sort of way.

"Ok so you did come from Rockwood?"

"Yes, are you from there to."

"Yep, I just left."

"Me too, you're the first person I've talked to since I've started here."

"Well, you're my third."

"Good to know."

The bell rang, we parted ways and went to class. There was something wrong with me. I was being social. I talked to people. I interacted with people. What happened to the socially awkward me that couldn't talk to anyone without having an anxiety attack. I got into my 6th hour and took a nap to take my mind off of things.
