Chapter Three

"Hey Jack."

"Alex! How did you get in my house?"

"Don't worry about it."

He jumped onto my bed and pinned me down. He leaned in to kiss me.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I hit my snooze button and got out of bed. I did my usual morning routine and started to head out. I just walked out my door when my mom called me.

"Jackie where are you going."

"School, where else would I be going?"

"But it's Saturday."

"Mom it's Wednesday, stop smoking weed it makes you forget."

"You're just saying that because you've never tried it."

"Oh my god, bye mom."

"Bye sweetie, have a nice day"

"Yep"

I walked down the crooked sidewalk to get to school. A bus flew by me and ran through a puddle. The water flew above my head and everything seemed to go into slow motion. I lightly heard some behind me scream to look out. The next thing I knew I was being tackled to the ground.

I was laying on my stomach and I felt someone laying on my back. The person got up and picked me up by the arms. I turned around and Alex was standing in front of me soaking wet. I stood their in shock.

"Sorry about tackling you, and your back."

"No, thank you I'd hate for my sweater get wet."

"Do you wanna walk together?"

He hesitated for what seemed like two minutes and said "sure". So we walked down the crooked sidewalk together. I asked him questions and he asked me questions. I felt like I was on jeopardy, is that what it's called? I don't watch tv.

I asked if he had a girlfriend and he said yes. Britany Diamond, cheer captain. I was getting some serious Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me" music video vibes. He continued to talk about how amazing she was. I got beet red.

"Are you okay?"

"Uhh, yeah. Just allergies."

"Oh, well what about you?"

"What about me?"

"You got a girlfriend?"

"No, I don't know many people here."

"Ohh, you're new. Where are you from"

"Oh I'm fro..."

Two people behind hind us yelled

"Thatcher what are you doing with this dork, and why are you wet?"

He looked at me and and we made eye contact. He looked at the two guys and said

"I'm just letting the nerd know who's in charge around here."

I looked at him in disbelief. And started to walk away from them.

"Come Back here nerd!"

I kept walking while tears filled my eyes. I thought I actually met someone nice but apparently not. I made my way to school and went to class.
