Xx LizMonami walked up to the guard on duty and he unlocked the room door. She walked in and softly sat down beside Mike. “Hey Fuentes” She was nervous, something she never really showed.
Mike just sat there, not moving. Monami looked down at her feet and continued talking. “A lot has happened since you've been in here.. Turns out Carlile is an old friend.. We spent some time catching up and then I let him take the Ginger home. Everyone demanded they meet my friend so I brought her here and everyone got to meet her. Jack got hurt, it's nothing major. Just a stab wound. He's going to be fine but it has stressed me out beyond belief. I ended up calling Vic by his first name. Something I never do.”
Mike still didn't answer. “I shouldn't have put you here” Monami admits, Mike slowly turns and looks at her. His eyes dead, lacking any emotion. Much like Monami’s used to. “I'm sorry Mike” Her voice barely above a whisper.
“You called me Mike”
Monami smiles when she heard his voice. She turns and looks at him. “I was wrong to put you here. I have treated you all badly for far too long. I doubt you can forgive me, but I do hope you'll decide to stay. If not, I uh… I'll understand” In that moment, she realized if Mike did leave the gang, she'd be lost.
Yeah he's technically just a capo but he was one of her best. One of her favorites.
“I won't leave” Mike wanted to say he wouldn't leave her but he was still afraid of making her mad. She smiled and did something Mike didn't think he'd ever live to see let alone feel. She hugged him. He wasn't sure why but he didn't care, Mike hugged Monami as tightly as he could without hurting her. He had seen a lot while being locked up. He fell just short of losing his mind until she came in today.
“What would you say to coming back and having a good shower before dinner?” Did she just offer for him to come back to the house and have dinner in the dining room with her? What the hell happened while he was gone?
“It sounds great”
“Tony” Jack whined. Tony rolled his eyes and walked into Jack's room. “Yes?” Telling Jack to take all the time he needed was the worst thing Monami could have done. He was driving Tony nuts!
“I'm hungry. Where is lex with my food?” Tony shrugged but didn't say anything because Salem walked in only seconds later. “Someone ordered… Literally almost everything on the Wendy's menu?” Jack laughed and cheered “Yes! Fooood!!” Salem laughed and rolled her eyes.
“Tony you can take a break. I'll watch over him for a bit” Tony thanked her before exiting the room. He no more than walked in his room and fell into bed before his door opened and someone was calling his name again.
“For God's sake! What now?!” Tony only realized he was yelling at his boss once he turned to see her laughing. Oh shit.
“Barakat driving you insane?” She asks, sitting at the foot of his bed as Tony lays exhaustively. “You have no idea” He groans. Again, Monami laughs. Tony smiles at the sight. “I let Mike go today, he's upstairs getting cleaned up right now. I wanted to see if you would join us for dinner”
Not going to lie, her offer surprised him. He doesn't take long to accept the offer and before he knew it, he, Vic, and Mike were sitting at the dinner table. Monami had the chef make each of them their favorite meals. Mike seemed zombiefied. He didn't talk, he just sat and ate. Vic and Tony talked, Monami would say something every now and again. It wasn't until after dinner that she really spoke up.
“The reason I asked you guys to dinner was so that I could apologize. I've been not only keeping things from you but I've also been treating you all pretty shittily for a long time now and I'm sorry. You guys work your asses off and risk your lives for the good of the gang and I should appreciate you all more. So from now on, things are going to be ran a lot smoother. I'm not going to be as rough on you guys. I'm still going to be tough but you won't be treated as machines anymore” They all seemed shocked but happy about what she was telling them.
“I've talked with everyone on the other side and business is going good. We don't need to make as many risky runs as we have been. From now on, we only do safe runs and we take plenty of cover so we don't lose anymore good men. The cemetery is getting full”
Vic perked up at her words. “Cemetery? I thought you just burned the bodies?” Monami sighed and ran a tattooed hand through her long hair. “No I told you guys that to keep the bad, cold hearted rumor everyone started about me years ago.
I have a private cemetery where I bury our men. If their wills say they want to be cremated, then I bury their vases. I give them the best burials I can. I also contact whatever family they have left”
Monami’s words melted Vic and Tony's hearts. Mike just sat there as he did before. “That's really amazing of you boss”
Vic assures her, softly squeezing her hand under the table. Tony thinks for a moment before saying “What about Eric?” Trader it not, he was Tony's friend. “He's there” Monami assures Tony who smiles.
The moment is cut short when Jaime comes in with the phone. “Sorry boss but it's super important”
He leaves and she listens to what's being said on the phone. “I'll be there” then she hangs up. “I have to go. I have to attend a meeting with one of our alliance's”
