10. Write Me A Letter

I wonder about her a lot. I know the guys all miss her, I do too. Austin went semi crazy when she left. Alan said he spent days just locked up in their room, not talking. She didn't remember him either and it was harder on him because apparently they had a past. It wasn't surprising. We knew little to nothing about her past, Austin wouldn't tell us either.

I closed down the office for the day and went to my room. The main house is too quiet without her and Mike here. He refuses to sleep in the house without her here so he sleeps with the boys downstairs. Tony did the same, he didn't take everything very well. He got in a dark place for a while but we were able to get him back thankfully.

Now he is all business, won't even joke around. In a way… He kinda became her.

I went to sleep for the night and dreamed about it again… About Her again. I woke up about 5am and decided to just stay up. I packed enough clothes for three days, deciding it's just what Mike needs.

There was a knock on my door about 6:30. I went and opened the door, surprised to see Mike standing there with a big smile on his face.

“Morning!” His board read. I laughed and ushered him into my room. “Good morning Mikey, how's my giant little brother this morning?” He rolled his eyes with a smile and a silent laugh. Then he wrote “Excited” on his board.

I smiled and said “Me too.. I packed for three days, have you packed yet?” He instantly started writing.

“Yes, for three days too.. I was hoping I could talk you into staying out the whole weekend but guess I don't have to” I laughed and ruffled his hair. “I told you, anything you wanna do this weekend”

He smiled, then he thought for a second, his smile faded and he shook his head. I knew what he was thinking. We couldn't do anything he wanted… Because what he really wanted was to go see her.

“Be safe, call us if you need us. Have fun Mikey!” Alex and Jack acted like worried parents as we were leaving. “Okay mom and dad” I joked, Alex rolled his eyes and laughed. Jack stuck his tongue out and wrapped an arm around his fiancé.

Yes fiancé. After she left, Salem became a permanent fixture here and then she and Jack fell in love. He quit doing drugs for her, now he just drinks. Only if Alex would quit… He uses up a lot of our product.

We waved bye until we couldn't see them anymore. “Alright Mike. This weekend is all about you, what do you wanna do first?”

We had a blast. We went back to our hometown of San Diego and went to all the places we loved as kids. I haven't seen Mike smile this much in a year. He even laughed a few times, it was the greatest sound I've ever heard. I missed his laugh. I missed my little brother. We stayed up late watching all our favorite movies. I sat through Harry Potter again. Now it's Sunday and we have to go back home tomorrow morning. I can tell Mike is reluctant to go back, to be honest, I am too. It isn't the same anymore.

I sealed the envelope and put it in my bag, I'd put it in the box with the others when I get back. I write to her almost every day. I never send them but it helps. I seal them and even buy stamps for them, in hope that someday I can mail them to her. False hope.

She is happy now, Austin said. He's been basically stalking her for the past like 5 months. She works, her hair is still long. She changes the color every few weeks. There's a guy in her life, not many other people. She seems to keep to herself, the guy seems to keep her safe. Not sure if they're dating or not. Hopefully not. Oh and she has a puppy! Oh never mind it isn't hers, she was just petting it. The guy just wrapped his arm around her! She laughed at something he said, wow she has gotten thinner if that's even possible… “Vic… Are you even listening?” I rolled my eyes

“Yes Austin. I'm listening to you stalk a poor girl that might not even be her.” Austin groaned and said “It's her! The tattoos are kind of a dead give away. She has some new ones, she's covered a few on her arm with new ones too. Oh hey she has her tongue pierced now” I raise an eyebrow at my phone. “Do I even want to know how you know that?”

Austin laughed, “She just stuck her tongue out at the guy she's with. I saw it, geez Vic. Get your mind out of the gutter” Oh for the love of God.

“Austin. Seriously leave the poor--”

“Uh may I ask why you're following us?” I froze. The guy she's with caught Austin. Oh no.

I quickly hung up, not wanting to be a part of it. Haha poor sucker.
