MHD 25

Once we arrived at the pack house I quickly dashed inside whilst pulling Tristan behind me. I was so ecstatic that I couldn’t contain myself! I had bought a new house and I was in a relationship with my mate.

I tugged Tristan behind me until I found my group of friends gathered in the game room playing pool and the air hockey.

“Hey!” I chirped and ran to hug Marissa and Amy.

“Why are you so happy?” Questioned Ralph and then he smirked. “Get laid?”

I cracked with laughter and punched his arm. “No, I just bought my new house!”

They congratulated me and in the midst of laughter and bickering someone finally noticed that Tristan was holding my hand.

“Oh my gosh! Don’t tell me it finally happened?” shrieked Marissa. “Are you guys a couple now?”

My face flushed and I buried it in Tristan’s chest. “Yeah, we’re together.” Tristan admitted proudly.

His arms came around and held me. The scent of Tristan allowed me to calm my blushing. They all laughed when I turned to face them nonchantly.

“We’re so happy for you both.” Jonathon congratulated us.

“Yes, this really is a good thing for both of you. You deserve to be happy.” Amy told us gently.

“Thank you.” Shyness had overtaken me by surprise. I felt like the very first time everyone had found out we were mates so many years ago. Tristan had been my first boyfriend and I hope the last one too. He made me feel like a school girl with all those little looks he kept sending me while my friends had begun to tease us.

After an hour of everyone chatting Amy jumped up. “Let’s go clubbing! We haven’t gone in ages and Im so bored of being here.”

Marissa let out a shriek of horror. “I can’t go clubbing! Have you seen the baby whale Im carrying? They would never let me in.”

Marissa’s water works began and in a panic Jonathon supplied another option. “What about midnight bowling? The bowling alley in town has a bar so the guys and the only non-pregnant girl can get wasted. Plus, they play music and people are always dancing. That way Amy can have her “club” and Marissa won’t feel uncomfortable.”

Everyone agreed and by eleven we were buying the bracelets and getting in line for the shoes. Jonathon being the first to get his shoes went to our assigned lane and dropped off his shoes. He then went and bought the first round of shots for everyone minus Amy and Marissa.

Once we were all sitting in our lane we chatted and changed into our shoes. The smell of the tequila shots made my stomach feel queasy. “I haven’t taken any shots in a couple of months.” I informed the guys once they started to pick on me.

Ralph shook his head in disappointment. “Well, all the more reason to down it now!” They all began to chant my name as I hesitantly lifted it to my mouth. The only silent one was Tristan as he looked at me with happiness. His warmth radiated onto my body and his arm was draped across my shoulders.

I tipped the glass up and downed the burning honey-colored liquid. “Ugh.” I exclaimed at the gross taste.

“Wooo!” cheered Marissa, “You did it for us pregnant women! Gosh, I haven’t had any drink since I found out I was pregnant. I can’t wait to pop out this baby and have myself a nice Pina-colada. Can I have a virgin Pina-colada babe? Please! It would do away with the craving of alcohol.” Marissa kept on incessantly blabbering even after Jonathon got up to order both Marissa and Amy some non-alcoholic pina-coladas.
