-Chapter Twenty-Seven-
Friends?

~*~Alcohol can either be your worst enemy or your friend and most prefer the latter. Currently, it was being very kind to Emiko, possibly too kind. "Looks like you've polished off the whole bottle" Sasuke swished the glass around. " 'Scuse you!" Emiko slurred, "I gave you a generous one glass"
"You should feel honored" she waved an unsteady finger at him. "Why is that" Sasuke leaned back in his chair with amusement behind his charcoal stare. "I don't share my wine with anyone"
"Already breaking your own rules..." he smirked, "What next?"
"For your information, Uchiha!" She wobbled out of the chair and to her feet, "the alcohol is clearly a valid excuse" With a wide grin, she stammered over to her refrigerator and then tossed him a can of beer. "Let's go!" she threw her hands in the air.
"Just where are we going?" Sasuke stood. Emiko shot him the most devious glance and then slipped out the door without a word. Once Sasuke had followed her, she locked her apartment door, after struggling for quite some time. "You made that look so easy" he commented sarcastically.
"Yeah Yeah" she sighed, walking down the steps. The sun had barely gone down, leaving a dim lit sunset. "You never answered my question" Sasuke persisted. "Because it's a secret" she sped off ahead, into town. Shaking his head, Sasuke followed behind; finalizing he should probably make sure she didn't get herself in any trouble.
They arrived outside of Kohana's favorite candy shop, Amaguriama, leaving Sasuke to Sweat-drop as she tripped on her way in. To his dismay, Emiko had met up with a more than hammered Tsunade. They seemed to be getting along far to well. "Yer back!" the woman laughed loudly, "Actually" Emiko smirked, "I'm on an important mission"(Author's Note: Fun fact, Sasuke actually hates sweets.)
"Eh?"
"To get Candy of course" she clasped her hands together, awing at the variety she had to choose from. Sasuke watched Emiko and Tsunade from afar, along side Shizune who whispered, "I'd be careful, if we don't intervene now they're bound to start gambling"
"Gambling?" Sasuke questioned, surprised Emiko would be into such a thing. "Emiko's been training under her" she explained. "She went to the bar once with Tsunade and now they've become best friends..."
"That explains it all" Sasuke gave the two a blank stare. "Gotta go!" Emiko laughed, "Unfortunately, I can't beat you tonight Baa-chan"
"Yeah Yeah, you're just scared!" Tsunade cackled. "Don't worry! I'll show you just how scared I am next week"
"You're all talk, Tamashii!" she teased, leaving the cashier between the two quite uncomfortable. "Riiight." She handed the cashier money and snatched her bag of candy. "See you later" She waved, exiting with a releived Sasuke. "Wait a moment" Tsunade squinted out the door, "Was that...?"
"Yes M'Lady. It was Sasuke" Shizune shot her a glance. "Huh..." she smirked, "Interesting"
"Where are you going?" Sasuke raised a brow as she turned the way opposite to her home. "Somewhere very important" she replied, setting a determined look toward the path ahead of her. After they had been on their feet for quite some time, Sasuke stopped as he realized where she was headed. The Uchiha compound. But why? "Why here?" he was hesitant to take a step further. "You want to redeem yourself, don't you?" she looked over her shoulder at him and he furrowed his brows, "What does this have anything to do with redeeming myself?" he gritted his teeth angrily.
"Id say trusting me is the first part" she looked ahead, slowly walking forward. "I wouldn't bring you here without a valid reason, alright?" Sasuke remained silent but nevertheless, continued forward after the girl.
The night was quiet as only the sound of an occasional wind rushed past them every now and then. It was a warm night and the moon was high in the sky by the time they reached the compound.
