"Get up, you're going home."
There was no time for goodbyes between Juugo and Emiko. It was sad she didn't get to spend nearly as much time as she wanted to with her new friend, but now was her time. And she couldn't lie; she was hell-bent on getting back home.
~*~
"Mom, Dad!"Emiko entered her home with a widespread grin on her face. She looked through her home for both of her parents, only to find that they were gone. "l'm...home..." Her grin shrunk into a frown. She thought they would be happily waiting for her return, but she fooled herself.
So she sat down on the couch and began to cry. Why didn't they love her?
It was like she was nothing more to them than a gateway to fame if she were to become the strongest ninja in the land. She wasn't there in their hearts. They had always treated her differently than other parents treated their children. She often watched Sasuke from afar as his mother treated him with affection, longing to have parents as kind as his...
A bang was heard on the window behind the blonde. Slowly she turned around to see what caused it, not bothering to wipe the tears from her face. Her eyes connected with her father's cold charcoal ones. At first, they seemed to soften but once he had spotted the tears, they hardened stiff. As if she was unable to cry at this age. Like it was taboo.
He motioned for her to come outside to the training grounds, and that is when she broke. She stood up with her back to him, as her hands had trembled into fists. She tried. She tried her hardest, but now she knew: NOTHING was going to be good enough for them. She wiped the liquid from her cheeks and darted outside, facing both her parents.
"Well?" Her father asked, both their expressions impatient. "Show us your abilities" Her mother demanded. A strong gust of air rushed past them, blowing her golden locks outward as the sky turned grey. Emiko measured her parents for a moment, searching for anything good left in them.
"Go on, we don't have all day" Her father snapped. Emi swallowed thickly as she began to activate her new found "powers". But... Nothing happened."Hurry up!" Her mother bellowed.
And those few words are what brought catastrophe to her family.
The earth below them had begun to rumble as she felt an unmanageable power flow to her right foot. Emiko took a step forward causing the ground before her to crack, separating the ten-year-old from her parents, pelting them back with an incredible force.
Her eyes widened as she watched her mother fall straight down the crevice. Her father however, had managed to grab onto the ledge. She zoomed over to Hedeiki, reaching for his hand, struggling to lift him up.
"Why can't you do one thing right!?" He bellowed. Grief overtook her completely. Her hands began to rumble within his grip as the power she had felt previously shot out, emitting every inch of her father to flames. Nausea had pained her stomach, her heart, her chest, as she fell to the floor wide eyed...
And so she sat.
For the longest time, she sat and stared ahead absent-mindedly. She had nothing, or maybe she had nothing to begin with.
Anbu Black-ops had arrived at the scene, but her attention and alertness was long gone as it all faded to a blur.
