-Chapter Seven-

Friendship increases in visiting friends, but in visiting them seldom.

"Are you sure, Emiko?"

The blonde sent Gaara a broken smile, "Best case scenario...they've all forgotten about me. I think it's time I've faced them." Gaara sent her a worried glance as she continued to apply makeup to her face."Ready, Emiko?"With a last stroke of the brush, she turned to the Sand-nin and nodded.

"I've picked out the perfect Kimono for you." Shocked, Emiko's eyes widened a bit as she held up a beautifully sewn lavender Kimono."That's..-"

"For you, yes. You'll look bangin', Miko." Kankuro came up to the three of them and added. Emiko let out a small giggle, and lightly smacked Kankuro's arm."Thank you. But you really didn't have to." She gave them a huge grin, her eyes gleaming. "-Of course I did, now go put it on!" Temari pushed Emiko back into her room.Moments later, Emiko came out her Kimono hugging her perfectly. "..Ready?"Gaara asked, his back facing her.

"She's more than ready!"Kankuro looked her up and down."KANKURO!"Temari smacked the back of his head.

Once Emiko had come into Gaara's line of vision, he knew exactly what his sibling was talking about. Her beauty was so shocking he couldn't bring his eyes away from her. Emiko flashed him a small, nervous smile, as she walked ahead towards Temari.

Kankuro however, sent him a sly glance from the corner of his eyes as the two ladies walked out the door,"I can see why you wanted to take her in so badly" Gaara snapped out of his trance and flashed him a glare. The puppetmaster let out a laugh,"I'm only kidding, Gaara." he placed a hand on his shoulder,"Lighten up a bit."

The walk from Suna to Kohana was normally relatively short compared to the distances Emiko had traveled. On the contrary, it seemed longer this time around. Possibly due to Temari and Kankuro's excessive bickering. But after a very long day, the four ninja had finally arrived at Kohanagakure.

As they entered the gates, mixed feelings of Nostalgia and sadness filled the blonde."You alright, Emiko?" Temari asked, as the girl had tensed up. Emiko sent her a small nod and moved forward into the village.

Before they could even turn the corner, a large white dog came barreling towards the group stopping before Kankuro."Well, well. Fancy seeing you here, mutt" Kankuro teased Akamaru, who had probably run off again. In turn, the fluffy dog let out a short growl of disgust at Kankuro.

"Aka..maru?" Emiko breathed out, in shock. The last time she had seen the dog he wasn't even up to her knees! Now, he was twice her size! Akamaru cocked his head for a moment and then charged straight for her. He had her pinned down with big slobbery kisses in a minute. Emiko giggled aloud and then gave the furry dog a hug. "I missed you too, boy."

"Akamaru!"A deep voice scolded from afar. With a whine the dog hung his head, reluctantly removing himself from the girl. "We thought you lost him" Temari laughed, as Kiba approached the group. Emiko froze at the sight of her friend, as he had changed a ton. Kiba definitely grew out of that big heavy coat that covered his face, as he was now two heads taller than her.

"No way..." His attention landed on Emiko, and his jaw had just about dropped to the floor. "Emiko..?!" He helped her to her feet, and immediately wrapped the girl into a hug.
