I scooted against the wall, clasping Mari in my arms.
It had been two solid days since I last ate, I can say the same for Mari.

We could hear him downstairs, he seemed to have someone else or even multiple people.

What's happening?
What did we do to get put in this position.

"D- do you think he will come up here again?" Mari asked, shaking.

I shook my head, hoping I was right.
Loud thumps were heard veering off into the opposite direction of what we assume would be the stairs to get up here.

"W- will he hurt us?"

"He hasn't yet...... so I hope not." I exhaled.

"We need to do something." Mari said, seemingly putting herself together.
"If we star here were going to die"

"I know but what can we do?" I asked.
We heard an engine Start and got our hopes up that he was leaving again.

"Quick, Help me with these bars."

I had been very suspicious of every doctor who had come in through these doors.
Whether I could see their faces or not, how was I to know if they were working with him.?

Boze and Mari had been gone the longest.
I turned to Flitz who was still asleep on the chair, many doctors had insisted to take him to do tests on whatever he was injected with but I couldn't let them.
For all I know the other end of this madness could be the gunman and his new and shiny meat grinder..

I couldn't leave them, but there was no way I could get them out of this hospital alive.

I sighed as I walked over to Olivia, her small hand curling up in mine.
I couldn't help but feel responsive for what could happen next.

"I'm so sorry guys." I sighed, if I couldn't help them I wasn't going to help myself.

I bowed my head down in defeat before a loud siren boomed down the halls.
I jumped up as all the lights in the hospital went out, engulfing us in nothing but pitch black darkness.

What was going on.

The siren continued to blare as, what I assume to be, the back up generator came on.
Very dim lights lit every room accept the hallway which was filled with a deep red light.

Olivia burst up in fear as my instinct was to wrap my arms around her.

"Noah, what's going on!" She muttered through the sirens.

"I don't know.." I fret as the thunderous stamps of the doctors storming through the red halls.

Whatever's happening isn't going to be good.

Once all the doctors cleared the entire hospital was filled with silence.
No alarms, no voices, no movement.
Nothing but pure and painful silence.

I looked back to Flitz who was forcing himself awake and Olivia who was shaking violently.

"Is that it? Is it over?" She softly squeaked.
As soon as her sentence finished loud, echoed shots boomed through the hospital.

Someone had a gun, someone was shooting up the hospital..
And I'm pretty sure I have a good idea who it is..
