(y/n), this is ray." mikey smiled.

you smiled at him. "nice fro."

he grinned and looked down to hide a blush.

"and this," gerard added, "is frank."

you looked at him and smiled a little. the boy was cute. he was cuter than cute and you were just standing right in front of him smiling a little. "uhmm, hi."

frank smiled at you. "hey."

gerard smiled. "so now can we go for lunch? i'm hungry."

a few weeks passed since you met ray and frank and you spent every day with with and the way brothers.

"no but seriously, she had something in her eye." frank grinned, retelling the story about the cheerleader who thought he was going to kiss her.

you weren't going to lie to yourself, you were glad that he didn't kiss her because you wanted to kiss him. over the last few weeks you had developed feelings for frank and you really kind of hated the fact that these feelings just sprang themselves onto you.

you must have been sitting quiet for too long or someone must have asked you a question because gerard shook your leg.

"(y/n)? you still with us?" he asked with a small smile.

"uhmm, yheah." you forced a smile. "still here."

he raised an eyebrow. "right... what's wrong?"

you shook your head, standing up from the table. "i'm gonna go to the library to study. i'll see you in art, gee?"

he nodded, concern on his face.

when it was time for last period and you had art, you seriously contemplated skipping but you needed to talk to gerard. you needed advice. so you slowly made your way from maths with frank, to art with gerard.

frank stopped you on your way to your lesson.

"(y/n), wait. what's wrong?"

you just shrugged and kept walking, refusing to look at him because you had been hurt too many times in the past.

"nothing, frank. i'm gonna be late." you walked straight past him and didn't stop until you were at your seat next to gerard in art.

"gee...? i need to talk to you. i need advice." you smiled a little.

he nodded. "sure. hit me."

you chuckled softly and sat down, explaining your feelings for frank and how you knew you were setting yourself up just to be hurt because there was no way he would like you back.

"but how do you know that he wont?" he raised an eyebrow. "have you actually asked him?"

you shook your head. "there's not point, really. no one ever likes me back."

gerard's eyes softened and he looked straight at you. "(y/n), you should talk to him. it could turn our better than you think."

you shrugged and sighed.

"maybe..."

a few more weeks had passed and you decided to go about the frank situation your own way, which meant you had pretty much ignored him since your talked with gerard.

frank had tried talking to you but you did your best to avoid him, not even sitting with the guys at lunch or in your free periods because you needed to move on from the silly little crush on frank.

but it wasn't working.

every time you saw him you felt the butterflies stir in your stomach and that made you mad because you didn't want to feel anything but friendship.

but you really did have that little slither of hope that he liked you too. and you needed it to go, no matter what it took.

(y/n)!" frank called after you, getting closer. "(y/n) wait!" he grabbed your arm as he caught up to you and he pulled you to a stop.

"frank, let go of my arm. i'm gon-"

"you're gonna be late. yheah, you use the same excuse all the time i try to talk to you. what did i do wrong?"

you frowned. "frank. leave me alone. i don't want to talk to you."

"why? what the hell did i do wrong, (y/n)?"

you sighed. "nothing... i just... leave me alone." you turned and started to walk away from him.

"and i thought you were different than other girls." he called after you and that made you stop, turning to look at him.

"what is that supposed to mean?"

he just looked at you. "it means, all girls are the same. at least, all the girls i like are the same."

you silently cussed at the butterflies in your stomach to stop going crazy but they wouldn't. he said it. what you wanted to hear.

you sighed. "frank... you want the truth."

he nodded. "it would be nice."

you sighed and told him everything, how you started to like him and how you were so certain that he would never like you back so you needed to make the feelings go away and the only way you knew how to do that was to ignore him and make them go away. but they didn't go away. and it hurt. so you kept ignoring him. until now.

he smiled at you a little. "what made you think i wouldn't like you back? i thought i made it pretty obvious."

you smiled a little. "i'm stupid. that's why."

he shook his head. "you're not stupid."

you laughed a little. "i am."

he shook his head again. "no you're not. now," he smiled softly. "dinner on saturday?"
