Megan's P.O.V

I am a grown woman. Dylan can not tell me who I may and may not hang out with. David is sick, cancer to be specific and he needs someone around. I was proud of Dylan for turning down the drugs, but knowing him, he had something up his sleeve.

I hated thinking that he was never as innocent as he said, but that was the attitude I had to keep around him. To keep myself from falling in a pit I could possibly never come out of.

I wasn't sure if me and Dylan were even dating. We never made it official, I just assumed with were. I wondered if we were broken up now. It's sad I don't even know my own relationship status.

I walked up the stairs to David's mansion and found him in bed.

"Hey you." He called.

"Hey, feeling any better?"

"Yeah." He smiled, but his heart wasn't in it. He didn't feel better.

"I came by to check on you."

"That's nice, it's good to have a friend like you."

"I'm always here, anytime you need me you have the number."

He laughed and coughed into a napkin.

"It doesn't look good."

"You're strong David, I'm sure you can get through it."

"And what if I can't?"

"Don't think like that, don't be negative."

"I don't know Megan, I spent my whole life helping people and I can't even help myself."

"That's not true David, most people would have gave up at life by now. At least you're staying strong."

"I know, but...."

"David you'll be fine, I believe in you if no else does."

"Thank you Megan. Thank you for being here with me."

"Don't mention it."

"There's something I wanted to ask though."

"What?"

"I don't want to die alone Megan, I want to at least have someone for my last few months."

"Have you talked to anyone?"

He reached out and his pale hand touched my skin.

"Will you marry me Megan?"
