"Mrs. Greene, Dr. Phillips will see you now."
I straightened my shirt and like mother always said I walked with my head up. I could feel eyes burning into my head. my stomach hurt, I had been at this place in life of days.
Usually I could forget what happened, but with my biological mother's birthday approaching the nightmares started again. I entered his offices and sat.
"It's nice to see you again, how are you Megan?"
"I'm fine David."
"I suppose the dreams have started again."
I took a deep breath, "yes."
"We've never talked very much about what happened with your mother and father have we?"
"I don't think we have."
"I think to stop it we must go to the core of it."
"Which means?"
"I want you to give me a detailed account of that day."
I took a deep breath in, "I don't know if I can do that."
"Of course you can." he reached across and rubbed my hand, "I believe in you."
I had forgotten that he still missed me from our time together last year. he was a good boyfriend but I wanted him and he wanted work so we ended.
"Just lay back and let your mind do the talking."
I closed my eyes and laid back in the chair. it had been over ten years since I had to do last. I wasn't sure if the memories would be fresh, but I was willing to give it a try.
"Just relax." David said massaging my shoulders. "just relax." he repeated.
