Addie, Seraph, Othello and Genevieve all left the dorm room to search for Fletcher. Addie had no idea where he would be, so she just wondered around, hoping he would turn up anytime soon. Meanwhile, Genevieve made it her task to gather more information about Addie.
"So, Adelaide, how old are you exactly?" Genevieve asked. She tilted her head slightly to look up at her, but not too far, as she still wanted to able to see where she was going.
Addie continued looking forward, but answered Genevieve anyway, "Seventeen. I'm eighteen soon."
Genevieve looked down in astonishment, "Wow. You're so old." She joked.
Addie chuckled, "I'm not that old," She paused while she thought, "But now you've mentioned it, I do feel rather old." Addie's uncomfortable feeling made Celtore squirm beneath her hair, which made Genevieve look at them both in concern.
Genevieve wanted to know more about Addie, even the most minute details. She didn't want to pry about Addie's father's death, but her curiosity got the better of her, "Adelaide?"
Genevieve's curious tone worried Addie, she could be wanting to ask her all sorts of questions, and she wasn't ready for whatever Genevieve was going to ask her, "Yes?"
Genevieve paused, she was hesitant about what she was going to ask, she didn't know whether it was the right thing to do. However, Genevieve couldn't leave the conversation she had started, so she swallowed the worry and asked away: "What was your father's name?"
As soon as Genevieve began to ask the question, Addie could already feel a lump at the back of her throat take shape, and tears were beginning to form above her lower eyelids. She swallowed to remove any hint of her sorrow, but her quiet and blotchy voice could not be persuaded to leave.
Addie blinked away the tears, then replied to Genevieve's question, "His name was Eideard, Eideard Ingaretta." She felt like walking away, but walking away is not what her father did; and although he died, he died in confidence and bravery.
"Ingaretta?" Genevieve asked in even more curiosity, "Is that your surname?" She knew it was a pointless question to ask, but it helped her to clarify if she were ever to address her in training, and she didn't want to get the name of a second year incorrect.
Addie nodded, she didn't talk because she knew she would break down in tears. Why did she have to ask that? She debated in her mind.
"'Cadet Ingaretta'" Genevieve recited, "It has a nice ring to it."
Addie smiled at her and continued to stay silent, until Seraph noticed Fletcher, "Hey!" He shouted down the stairs, flailing his arms about to get the boy's attention, "Fletcher! It's me, Seraph! I'm with Othello and Genevieve! And look," He pointed at Addie, who effortlessly lifted her hand up from the stair railing, then put it back down again. Seraph continued, "It's a second year!"
Fletcher waved and made his way towards the staircase, "Hello!" He panted as he jogged up towards them.
