Fletcher had managed to catch up with them, and as soon as he saw Addie, his mouth pouted a little, and his eyes frowned, as he tried to remember where he had seen her before. He pointed his right index finger at her; "Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked her.

Addie breathed in as she composed herself, then she straightened her back and smiled a little. Her eyes glistened, which seemed to make Fletcher smirk, discretely, "Yes, I'm Adelaide, the one you met at the library." Her frustration from the memory made Celtore growl, but it only made the others look helplessly at his attempt to be in control.

Fletcher smiled as he remembered, "Oh yes, I remember now. You're the one with the very angry dragon." Addie frowned and looked at him, unhappily.

Fletcher had realised his fault and began stuttering, trying to find the right words, to please Addie again, "I, I'm... er... thank you for taking your dragon away before he could hurt my salamander."

Addie sighed, but perked up a bit when Genevieve nudged her, "Yes, well, I couldn't be selfish and just save my own demon now, could I?" Celtore shuffled on Addie's shoulder as she lied, but she looked at him, sternly, to calm him down.

Fletcher smiled and his demon appeared from behind his neck, "Welcome back, Ignatius, did you have a refreshing slumber?" The salamander purred and rubbed his head against Fletcher's, but as soon as he saw Celtore, his whole personality changed.

Ignatius hissed at Celtore, and this made the dragon roar at the salamander. Ignatius went to leap onto Addie, but just as he left his master's shoulder, Fletcher managed to catch him in midair. Genevieve, Othello and Seraph all moved back up the stairs as they knew a fight would break out.

As the salamander tried, and failed, to attack Celtore, Celtore didn't hesitate to defend Addie and himself. He did not prepare himself, and he did not warn Addie; straight away he projected acid from his glands.

Fletcher moved back but, because they were on the stairs, he stumbled on his feet and tried to regain his balance. He let go of Ignatius as he grabbed the staircase railings, and the salamander made for Celtore.

Addie wanted to stop Celtore, but what could she do? If she held her hand in front of his jaws her hand would burn to a crisp and she'd be kicked out of the academy from her incurable injury, but if she allowed Celtore to release his attack mechanism then someone will get hurt, or worse.

Addie held her breath, trying to think of a solution as quick as possible, but in the end she decided upon the best answer.
