Redamancy

Chapter 4

The rest of the week went by uneventfully, and soon it was the most awaited Friday. Most awaited since the next day was our freshers party, and literally everyone was booming with joy to the thought of a party. Well, except for me. Not that I wasn't excited, just that I'm not a party person, but I was looking forward for some distraction from classes and running round the track.

After we were done with our clubs we headed over to the small cafe to discuss about the party.

"This freshers party is like a godsend. It's just been a week and I'm already done." Yuki started.

Nate and I laughed over her laziness. We ordered coffees and something to go with it and talked some more while awaiting our order.

"I'm mentally scanning my closet, trying to think of something good to wear." Yuki said making hand gestures ticking and crossing out outfits mentally. "Omg lets wear matching outfits!" she looked at me thrilled about the idea.

"Sure I wouldn't mind." my response had her elevated with joy, she threw her hands in the air.

Our food and drinks arrived and we happily devoured everything while talking about class, the party, our clubs and some random stuff.

Since it was Saturday we woke up late and got ready and went for lunch. We quickly made our way back to the dorm to figure out our "matching outfits". We scrolled through Yuki's endless closet of clothes and then went through mine. Since we both had a black leather skater skirt, we decided to wear that and top it with a floral crop top.

Okay I have to admit at this point I was pretty excited myself.

"Okay now we gotta prep for the party. I'll let you in on 'Yuki's secret skin care routine'. Let's wash our face first." she wanted to look her best and wanted everything to look perfect so we decided to go with her skin care routine.

"Now, apply this to your face. It's a cleanser." we waited for about 10 minutes with the cleanser on our faces. "Time for a face mask, followed by toner." once the mask was on it started to dry after a few minutes. We tried talking with it but felt so funny but couldn't laugh which made it more funnier and harder to hold in our laughter. After the mask was off we applied the toner.

"We now have to apply a moisturizer. I got this moisturizer from the drug store which only cost me $100." she talked like she was in a YouTube video and we laughed at her impression. "Just kidding the moisturizer is like 10 ringgits."

"Vanilla! My favourite." I inhaled the scent of the moisturizer before applying it on my face.

The party was at 7 p.m so we started getting ready by 5. We had a shower followed by hair and makeup which took so long because we sat and decided which style to choose and execute it. We did each other's makeup and finally got done by 7:20. But wait, that wasn't all. We had like a mini photo shoot and then we were ready to go. by 7:40.

The music was blasting through the hall that the party was in. Disco lights flickered and there were tons of students, the place was packed with people dancing, eating, clicking pictures, all sorts of things. I wanted to tell Yuki that I'd be by the food counter but I wasn't audible so I had to scream so she could hear.

"I'M QUITE HUNGRY MYSELF LETS GO FIND SOMETHING TO EAT!" we both made our way over to the food and I wasn't surprised to spot Nate chowing down on a burger.

"NATE!!" Yuki yelled and hugged him. "LETS TAKE A PICTURE, TIFF HERE" she handed me her phone and I took a few pictures. We posed with each other and then ate some food.

"WANNA DANCE?" Yuki asked us.

"NO THANK YOU." I said and stood there drinking some juice. Nate shook his head and pointed toward the food. She made her way to the dance floor and started dancing.

He put some french fries in his plate and we both ate it. After a while I spotted Phoenix. I gave his shoulder a nudge and pointed out in the direction where Phoenix was. He lit up as soon as he saw her. He put his food down on the table, straightened up his clothes and looked at me.

"How do I look?" he asked. I chuckled and pointed at his mouth which had crumbs. He quickly wiped it off, smiled, thanked me and ran towards her. I watched him talk to her, flustered. She laughed it off.

I walked around the place really lost. On the ground near the exit I spotted something. I walked toward it and looked down to see a Attack on Titan - Levi key chain. I picked it up and looked around. I tried asking if anyone knew who's it is but most of them didn't know and half didn't know what i'm talking about. I gave up and decided to keep it with me and ask around the next day. I looked over to see Yuki now dancing with a guy and Nate probably busy somewhere with Phoenix. I decided to leave since I was getting bored and thought of watching a movie or some anime.

I headed to the dorm and changed into my night clothes and put on my laptop. I sat on my bed and got comfy. I started watching 'The cat returns'. Before I knew it, I was asleep and didn't know when Yuki came in.

The days were just flying by. We were loaded with assignments and didn't have time for anything. I felt like I didn't sleep or eat properly for a week.

I stayed up completing my Physics assignment and finally finished it at 7 a.m. and had class at 8. I was really exhausted and looked over at Yuki who fell asleep on her books. I got out from my bed, stretching and clearing up everything and packed my bag.

"Yuki, wake up, we should go eat something."

She lazily opened her eyes and got out of bed.

I went to brush my teeth and take a shower, and got dressed and waited for her. I didn't eat anything as I didn't have an appetite. I felt really.. tired? I think I overworked myself. I dragged my feet to class, almost loosing balance at some point but regaining my stride.

With great difficulty I almost reached the entrance of the class when I started feeling really suffocated and sweaty. My vision started blurring and I couldn't recognize the figures in front of me. Before I knew it, my vision blackened.
