Redamancy

Chapter 8

Our next stop was 'New York'. It was just like the big city; the streets, the bustling sidewalk, the neon lights, the buildings, everything gave off the NY feel.

"I'm starving! Let's go eat somewhere." Lucy exclaimed.

"Me too! All this walking made me tired and hungry we should eat something." Jake added.

We headed to 'KT's Grill' which was an American grill house and filled our stomachs with the delicious food. Lucy sat beside me while Mika and Jake sat across us, Lucy and me chatted about college and I found out we have Psychology together, nice!

The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting the last 3 zones which were 'Madagascar', 'Far Far Away' and 'Lost World'. I was taken aback by the spectacular attractions and places.

It was starting to get dark and we had to attend the fireworks at 'Lake Hollywood Spectacular' in Hollywood so we headed over. I was getting pretty hyped up for this event and couldn't hold it in! We finally arrived and I can't begin to describe how truly spectacular it was.

The night was filled with loud and colourful explosions of flickering lights in the sky. It was like a dance of colours above us.  Luminescent shards slice through the night sky, illuminating everything in its wake. Trails of lights rocketing to the skies followed by an explosion and blazing sparkles scattered throughout.

I was so drawn into it that I tried to remove my camera without even looking in my bag. I kept capturing each moment, flashes everywhere as people did the same. 

Just like that, our memorable, incredible day came to an end as we headed back to the hotel.

The next two weeks flew by in an instant; we visited 'Gardens by the Bay' which is a stunning nature park, the night safari and the Singapore Zoo, which I thoroughly enjoyed! There were tons of species and shows which made it more interesting. We did a lot of shopping too, I bought a few chocolates, okay no, I bought a bag of chocolates. I couldn't resist! Some clothes and souvenirs.

We were awaiting our flight. Jake was asleep on my shoulder with his sketch book in hand and strands of his choco brown hair falling onto his face. I fought the urge to brush it off in fear of waking him up. I let out a soft chuckle upon realizing how cute he looked while sleeping.

The ride to back was silent, leaving everyone to their thoughts about their trip. I couldn't wait to get back to college and meet Yuki and Nate!

After about two hours we were finally at the school gates, ready to go back in.

"Tiff!" I turn around to see Jake come my way with a cute smile plastered on his face.

"Hey!" I chimed in with a smile.

"So I was thinking about the trip report, would you do it with me? We could submit it together. Also, we need to catch up, I've got a lot to tell you."

"Sure I'd love to!"

"Great! Give me your number so we can decide the time and place." He removed his phone and typed in my number.

"Thanks!" he opened his arms for a hug. "I had fun hanging out, this trip was amazing!"

"Me too!" I hugged back excitedly.

We walked back to our dorms and just as I opened the door someone screams my name.

"TIFFANY" Yuki threw herself on me hugging the life out of me. "You're back! I missed you so much."

I almost lost balance with her weight on me. "Let me guess, you want to know if I got you something?

"That's mean I really missed you! Okay maybe yes I do want to know but I did miss you." she was flustered as she spoke. I chuckled at how easy she is to read.

"Of course I bought you something." I smiled. Hearing this her face lit up and she hugged me tighter, then pulled apart.

She excitedly helped me with my bags and tried peeping into them to see whats in it.

"Tiffany!" a familiar voice called out to me, I turned to see... Nate?

"Nate, how did you get in here?" I asked wondering how he snuck into the girl's dorm.

He walked up we hugged each other.

"Phoenix got me in. Anyway, how was the trip?" he asked as we sat ourselves down.

I told the both of them everything about how it was, the places we visited, and how I made friends with Mika and Lucy. I opened the bag which had all their stuff inside and gave the yellow plushie and chocolates to Yuki. She seemed so delighted with them. She hugged the plushie tightly and thanked me.

"I bought you this cap and... an Iron Man and Thor t-shirt since I don't know which one you like so, pick one."

He looked at them wide-eyed. "Thor is my favourite, and these are originals! Thanks, Tiffany!"

After that was done we sat and looked at pictures of the trip, talked about college, chatted about Nate and Phoenix and random gossip. We headed over to the dining hall for lunch and heard that there was a party tonight since it was Saturday. I debated whether I should go or not, given that I had just returned from Singapore this morning. My thoughts were intruded by Jake calling out to me. I looked up to see him standing over my table.

"Hey Jake" I smiled.

"Hi, Jake!" Yuki added, with a smile.

"Oh hey, I'm Jake and you are?"

"Wait, I didn't introduce you guys! Jake this is Yuki and that's Nate, Yuki and Nate, meet Jake." I got everyone acquainted.

"Are you guys coming to the party tonight?" Jake questioned.

"We'll be there. See you then!" Yuki answered.

"Alright see you guys there! Bye Tiff!" he waved his hand and walked away.

Yuki began smirking at me and I was confused why. "What?" I asked

"So Jake huh? You didn't tell me he's this cute!" I kinda let out maybe a teeny meeny blush when she said that.

"Oh my god, you totally have the hots for him!" She exclaimed.

"I.." before I could say anything Nate comes in and diverts our thoughts towards the party tonight.

It left me thinking... maybe its a crush.
