Hollis' P.O.V.

I woke up with commotion going on all around me. As soon as i sat up, I saw people running around Kit's room frantically.
"What is going on?" I asked sitting up and covering myself in covers.
"We are getting ready for my fathers funeral for the public. Would you like to get dressed and everything?" Kit asked me.
"That was a very polite way of telling me to get my ass moving!" I replied laughing and getting out of bed.
"You can take a shower in my bathroom! I will have people bring you your clothes for today!" Kit told me as i walked into the bathroom. I washed my hair and body as the warm water dripped down my back. My hands reached for the towel to dry my body off. I peeked my head out of the bathroom to see who was in the room. It was just Jane and my clothing. I walked out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around my body. Jane helped me get dressed in my She did my hair and put some flowers in it to keep my positive spirit as she likes to say. I got my shoes on and put a black shawl on over my shoulders.
"Thank you Jane! You are wonderful!" I told her giving her a hug.
"You don't need to thank me. Im glad to see you and Kit are becoming closer!" She replied walking out of the room. I set the shawl on the bed and looked out the castle window and saw, probably, MILLIONS of people.
"Wow!" I heard behind me. I turned around and saw Kit standing there in all black.
"You look very nice! But i like to see you in less, dark, colors." I said as he walked towards me. His hands rested on my waist.
"You look stunning. Almost too good for a funeral!" Kit told me.
"I can go change! Is this not appropriate!" I replied.
"No! You look perfect!" Kit said. He started to lean in and he kissed my cheek. "Lets get going." He told me as we walked out of his room. The whole staff of the castle lined the halls. All of them were wearing black. As soon as Kit and i passed them, they followed us out of the castle. I saw Jane in the section with the kitchen crew. I took my hand away from Kit's and went with Jane. "Where are you going?" Kit asked as soon as i pulled away.
"My place is here. Im no princess and i don't want the public to get the wrong impression. You will be okay. You are strong Kit." I said with a smile. He kept walking as the captain and the grand duke followed him. I walked next to Jane and outside to see all of the people. We stood in a line and were given flowers, if we bought them, to put on the shrine for the king. Kit had a HUGE bouquet of yellow tulips. Those were the kings favorites. When i was younger, i would always bring the king his meals and a flower i picked from the garden that day. Most of the time, it was a daffodil. I bought a bouquet of them to put on his grave and on his shrine. When i got to the shrine, I set the flowers down and held onto Jane. I looked up at Kit when i was walking back to my spot in the line. We waited for the casket and the carriage to go by. Kit was standing in the middle of the captain and the grand duke. As the carriage went by, i looked over at Kit and saw how sad he was. The tears in his eyes started to appear. When it went by, the only thing you could hear was the horses going down the road. Kit looked down and wiped his eyes. I knew he was really holding it in. We all were walking behind the carriage to the burial site. Kit was supposed to start the walk but he just stood there. He started to run. I looked down at my feet not wanting to see Kit upset. I felt a hand grab mine. When i looked up, i saw Kit looking at me.
"Walk with me." He said.
"What are you doing?! Millions of people are looking at your every move! Are you sure you want to get nagged about this?!" I asked him.
"Im ready for anything. As long as you are by my side, i can take on the world." Kit told me. I looked at him and never wanted to kiss him more. I smiled back at Kit and walked behind the carriage with him. His hand squeezed mine as people started to whisper to their friends. The walk was very short. It was land owned by the palace and it was gated off. This is where all the formal royals are buried. We walked over to the spot they had dug in the ground for Kit's father and watched as they placed the casket inside. The military was doing something to salute him and i just stood there watching myself twiddle with my thumbs. It was a sad day for the whole country. They finished the salute and we all walked back to the palace. There was a banquet after the funeral. We walked back inside the castle and went to our rooms. When i walked into my room, there was a box on my bed. I walked up to it and saw a note with my name on it. When i opened it, there was something written inside.
'I love you. My fathers favorite color on you was this pink. Wear it. -K'
I smiled to myself and opened the box. It was the pink dress i saw yesterday at the store. I put it on and undid my hair. It was in loose curls. I walked down the and into the dining room. When i walked inside, i felt a hand grab mine. I was quickly pulled into another room. It was Kit.
"You look stunning." Kit said.
"Thank you. I like you better in colors." I replied looking at his change of clothing.
"Thank you. Will you please sit with me at the head of the table?" Kit asked.
"I would love to." I replied. We walked to the head of the long table and i sat right next to him.
After dinner was served, i saw Kit standing on the balcony.
"What are you looking at?" I asked him.
"I saw her." He replied.
"Who?" I questioned.
"The woman from the ball. She was there and i let her slip through my fingers again." He told me. I felt sad now.
"Don't let her make you any more sad. Let's enjoy that we have wonderful food and wonderful people here." I said. We walked back inside and had this AMAZING cake.
"Hollis, you are my everything. I don't want to face anything in this world alone because of you." He whispered while i was eating cake. That was a very unexpected moment.
"I will always stand by your side if you want me to." I said with a smile. He grabbed my hand and kissed it with a smile.
"Im thinking about having another ball after my coronation. What do you think?" He asked me.
"I think that is a wonderful idea!!" I replied.
"You of course would be attending!" He said.
"You know you don't need to do that!"
"I know how much you enjoyed it last time!" He told me.
"Thank you Kit. Really, thank you." I said with a smile. We get another ball! This is now my time to win over Kit!
