Hollis' P.O.V.

Today was the day of the funeral. I cant believe it's here. Jane didn't have much family. We were her family. I was able to find some old clothes of Jane's that I could I was sitting on the end of the bed looking at the necklace she gave me. The bathroom door opened and Kit walked out.

"How are you doing?" He asked me sitting next to me.

"Im okay. Im ready for this all to be over." I told him.

"Well lets get going then." He said standing up and putting his hand out for me. I took his hand and got up. We walked through the hall and went outside to the carriage. It wasn't as big as the Kings funeral obviously. We walked to the cemetery that was next to the one where all the royals are buried. I was next to Kit the whole time and holding his hand. This was harder than I thought. I couldn't focus on what they were saying at the funeral. It wasn't over quick enough. When we were done, we all walked back to the palace. Luckily it was a private road so nobody could see that something was going on. "I have some work to attend to really quick my love. Will you be okay for a few minutes?" He asked me.

"I will be fine. Thank you Kit." I said as he walked away. I went to the stall to see the horses. I didn't want to be around people right now. It was so hard to talk to everyone. They kept asking "How are you?" "Are you dealing with this okay?" Stuff like that. I was petting my horse and feeding all of them. I went to the chickens next and collected the eggs. When I was done, I walked into the kitchen to put them in the fridge. It was empty. There were people in there cooking but Jane wasn't here. It wasn't the same kitchen I knew growing up here. I walked back out and went to the horses again. I decided to go for a short ride to clear my head. It was a sunny day out. I could see the sun peaking through the leaves of the trees.

"Hollis?" I heard behind me. I jumped a little and turned around.

"Ella? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I couldn't find you after the funeral. Christopher said you might be out here." She said. I nodded. "Im not going to ask how you are or how you're holding up. Im going to ask you what you need right now."

"I don't know what I need. I need Jane back. Im not sure how to go on without her. She's been here forever and I haven't known a life without her. She with like my mother." I said.

"Is there anything I can do?" She asked. I shook my head no.

"I just wanted to check on you. I'll go back and give you your alone time." She said.

"Thank you." I replied as she went away on her horse. After five minutes alone, I decided to go back. I put my horse away and go inside the castle. When I was walking to the dining hall to see all the people, I passed Kit. He was busy still. When he walked by, he stopped and gave me a kiss. I walked upstairs and to our room. I really wasn't ready to be around all the people. When I walked in the room, I sat on the bed and looked at the necklace. Someone walked into the room.

"Hollis! I didn't expect to see you in here." Kit said walking in.

"I can't be around people right now." I replied. Kit sat on the bed with me.

"I know my love." Kit took my hand. "What are you doing tonight?" He asked. I chuckled.

"Im pretty busy. I've got a hot date and so many duties to attend to." I replied. He laughed.

"This hot date better not be any cuter than me!" We both laughed. I gave him a quick peck on the lips. "We're having time alone tonight. I told the guards, absolutely no interruptions at all. Tonight will be very fancy as always. I know how you love to dress up." Kit said getting up and kissing my forehead.
