Chapter 10

Hollis' P.O.V.

I woke up with Christopher by my side. It was weird not waking up with Kit. Christopher was still asleep. I went into my bathroom and decided to take a bath. It was still dark outside. Im an early bird so i normally wake up before the sun rises. I didn't even bother to check the time. I lit some candles around the bathtub and put my hair up in a bun. The warm water felt blissful on my cold skin. Bubbles were up to my shoulders and kept me warm. I closed my eyes and relaxed in the tub. From the window in the bathroom, i could see that the sun was starting to rise. I knew i had to go outside and feed all the animals. If i worked quick, i might be able to hurry back to my room before Christopher wakes up. I got out of the bath and got Quickly, i rushed downstairs and took all the animals out. I looked at the clock outside and remembered it was Tuesday. I have to wash the horses today. All of their food was out in the trough. I got the soap and water ready while they ate their food. When they were done, i got them all lined up to be washed. They all hate being washed. Today wasn't going to be easy. I hosed them all down and they instantly shook all the water off. What was the point of taking a bath today? I got the soap and started to wash the horses one at a time. When it was time to rinse them off, they all instantly shook the water off. It came flying onto me and i was soaked.
"I guess that bath this morning wasn't worth it." I heard someone say behind me. I turned around and saw Christopher.
"You knew i took a bath?" I asked.
"I went to use the bathroom and saw you in there and went back to bed." My eyes instantly grew bigger. "Don't worry. The bubbles covered you up." He said laughing.
"Oh okay." I replied going back to washing the horses.
"Let me help." He said grabbing the water and rag.
"You don't need to! They hate being washed." I replied.
"Please. I insist." He said.
"How did you sleep?" I asked him.
"Very well thank you! Thank you for letting me stay the night. I know my horse would of been too scared to take me home." He told me.
"It is no problem! Thank you for a wonderful night last night!" I replied. Christopher looked up at me and started laughing. "What?!" I asked while he was laughing. He walked over to me and put his hand on my cheek.
"You have soap on your cheek." He said wiping it off. I smiled and tried to hide my face but i ended up pushing into his hand more. Both of us were looking into each others eyes. Im not supposed to fall for Christopher! He's supposed to make Kit jealous!! I looked up to the castle and saw Kit looking out one of the windows. When he saw that i spotted him, he walked away. "I should probably get going. My family is wondering where i am!" He said grabbing his horse.
"Okay. I had a lot of fun with you." I told him.
"I did too. Would you like to do something again tonight?" He asked me.
"I would love to. I'll meet you in town around 1 too see what we want to do." I said.
"That sounds wonderful!" He replied kissing my cheek and getting on his horse. He rode away and i smiled to myself. I walked back up to my room and took another shower. I got into some new and walked out of my bathroom. Kit was sitting on my bed.
"So who is he?" He asked me.
"That is Christopher. He went to school with me when i was younger. Skylar made us meet up yesterday. It started storming outside so i made him stay here. Im sorry." I replied.
"I asked you to marry me and you go out and find another guy." He said coldly.
"You asked me to marry you and don't let me give you an answer, and take that other girl to your secret garden and kiss her. So i don't think i did anything wrong." I replied. He looked down at his hands. I walked and sat next to him on my bed. When he opened his hands i saw the most beautiful . It looked faintly familiar.
"This was my mothers wedding ring. When she died, she asked me to give it to you. If you were my wife or if you weren't. She wanted you to have it. This is what i wanted to propose to you with." He said.
"But you never did. The next day you kissed the other girl." I replied. I felt a tear leave my eye and run down my cheek.
"Hollis, please don't cry." Kit said turning towards me.
"Kit. Im in love with you. Every inch of my body is in love with you. Ive been in love with you from when we were young. You are always what ive wanted. Ive never been hurt like this before by anyone in my life and then i get hurt by you. That is the most painful thing i will ever have to go through." I told him.
"Hollis, i can not express to you how deeply sorry i am. I never meant to hurt you. I will show you how sorry i am and how much you mean to me. Please let me show you tonight." Kit asked.
"I told Christopher i would go out with him again tonight." I replied.
"How about we go out all four of us. You, me, Christopher, and Ella. I found out her name was Ella." He said.
"I don't see how that would make things better but okay." I replied.
"Dinner here tonight okay? Very fancy." Kit said.
"I will let Christopher know." I told Kit. He got up off my bed and walked to the door.
"Okay. Thank you Hollis. I don't deserve this." He replied running down the hall. I walked down to the stables to get my horse and meet Christopher. Pinocchio was ready to go. I got on him and rode into town.
"Hello Hollis." I heard. It was him.
"Hello Christopher. I talked to Kit and he wants to have dinner at the palace tonight. He said it would be very fancy." I told him.
"Okay. Sounds wonderful!" He replied kissing my cheek. "Im going to go home to change and get ready! I will see you in a few hours?" He asked me.
