Time and Water (Haikyuu! X Reader)

First Period

(Y/n)'s point of view:

Class began on with a quick flourish and I couldn't help but sigh at the quick pace we were continuing.

"Alright... Tetsu let's-"

I turned to see him holding two aprons, two pairs of goggles, and two pairs of gloves. I couldn't help but smile at the excited look on his face.

"You really do love science, don't you?" I ask my smile still apparent on my face.

His face flushed slightly before giving a bright smile.

"Ye'p'" he said, popping the p.

I slipped on the apron and attempted to tie it before I felt hands behind me tying it for me. I turned and saw a smiling Koushi behind me.

"Thank you... Senpai~" I said just loud enough for him to hear.

His ears tinged pink and he chuckled at me before gently patting my hair.

"No problem, (y/n)."

I pulled my hair into a long ponytail (if your hair isn't long I'm so sorry, but for story's sake let's just pretend your hair is about mid-back length.. Okay? Okay great!) and secured it with an elastic before slipping my goggles on.

"Tetsu, will you help me with my gloves?"

I turned and my jaw dropped.

'Holy *censored* this guy is fine'

My brain processed the thought as a tall Tetsu stood in front of me. His apron was secure and his goggles hung loosely around his neck.

"Of course, princess~"

Blushing, I held my hands out as he slipped my gloves on.

"You'll catch flies with you keeping that mouth of yours open." He chuckled.

I shut my mouth and nudged his side with my hip.

"Alright... It looks like we are making different mixtures for several day-long experiments... We need to mix liquid A with liquid C and heat it before adding B..."

I grabbed liquid A and C and skillfully mixed them. I handed the test tube to Tetsu and he held it over the flame. Oddly enough, the smell of bubble gum wafted through the air. I realized that the smell was just a chemical reaction. I smiled and was careful with Kuroo, adjusting his hand so the tube was facing away from other people.

The once clear liquid was turning strange off white milky color and that's when I had him remove it from the heat. I read the directions on the sheet that was in front of me.

"Okay... We need to put it on the rack and stir it until it goes back to clear... "

"I'll do it."

I nodded and gave him the glass stirring stick, he began to stir, the soft sound of clinking glasses rang out into the air. Eventually, the liquid we had turned back go a very clear color.

"Good job, Tetsu!!" I gave him a bright smile, for him to chuckle and I received one back.

I took a look at my side to see Koushi and Daichi getting through their work as well. Both men were very intelligent and it was something to see them work together outside of a court too.

"(Y/nnnnnnnnnnn), I'm going to get jealous with you staring at another guy around me!!!"

I glanced back and forth between the two, and it seems as if Koushi had heard what he said, he cause he looked up, gave me an uncharacteristic wink before going back to his work. I felt my flush and I could help but be a loss of words.
