(This chapter is trash but I'm in my feels so idnsjsn)
"Let's go?" Youngmin smiles as he interlocks his fingers with Joo who had the complete opposite expression.
Her gaze was more onto the concrete floor as the two traveled to a more unknown area in the city where they wouldn't be caught. Youngmin notices, but doesn't bother to say anything and just flashes a few smiles here and there.
"Coffee or ice cream?" He then asks Joo.
"Youngmin." She says, bringing her head up to look at him. "Are you alright?"
"Of course, I am! Why would you ask such a q-"
"I'm sorry." Joo's voice suddenly became very quiet and monotone.
"Goodness gracious, Joo." Youngmin chuckles while pulling her into a hug. "There's no need to be sorry. I said to take your time."
"But I really am-"
"Sorry for making me wait?" Youngmin interrupts. Joo couldn't answer since her face stuck between his arms and chest, so she nods her head.
"Well, I'll wait patiently. No, need to worry."
"Okay then, let's get ice cream." Joo says with her words all muffled between Youngmin's tight grip.
As soon as he let's go, he goes back to holding her hand with a smile.
It was two weeks after everything happened. The two were just dating if you should say, but never confirmed to be official because Joo wanted time to think.
Was it too soon? Did she really like him back though?
Thoughts like that bombarded her mind as she and Youngmin still walk together hand in hand. She still acts the same at the end of the day in which she becomes very clumsy, silly, and very talkative, but today is the day where she was so out of it.
"The real question is," Youngmin stops their tracks from walking and averts his gaze to Joo. "Are you alright?"
Joo's eyes were glued onto her phone and with the hand Youngmin was holding, he could feel it shaking. Could she be sick? Is she cold? But no, she wasn't.
Her heart starts pounding like crazy and she quickly brings her face up to Youngmin who has a worried expression planted on his face.
"C-can we go to the hospital?" Joo's voice became brittle and her face became pail.
Without hesitating, Youngmin nods his head and Joo leads the way.
The two arrive in less than 30 minutes and Joo immediately let's go of Youngmin's hand before entering. She makes her way to the front desk and asks the nurse where to go. Once she was directed Joo signals Youngmin to follow and they both walk silently through the corridors of the hospital.
Nothing bothers to leave Joo nor Youngmin's mouth as they silently walk until they made a full stop on front of a room.
"417" Joo reads to herself.
She gives Youngmin and apologetic look, but forces a smile to reassure that she'll make it up to him after.
"Dukjoo." Her grandma's voice calls out softly. Almost inaudible because her voice was so croaky.
"Hey, Ma.."
Joo slowly walks to the hospital bed with her body being so stiff as she couldn't believe what was before her eyes. Minho and Tae stay at the back corner of the room with their heads hung low in disappointment.
Youngmin follows behind Joo and gives a soft smile to her grandmother who did it in return for both of them.
Joo doesn't smile, nor does she even budge to force one upon her now, as her grandma takes ahold of her hands.
"I'm sorry." Her grandma forces out, though her throat was killing her like hell.
Joo shakes her head and looks away to glance at Minho and Tae. A sigh escapes her mouth as the two look at her with their eyes that were puffy and full of glum.
The doctor suddenly enters and gladly greets himself to everyone to brighten up the atmosphere. He pulls Joo aside and brings up the things about her grandmother's health and what to do about it.
Joo felt nothing, but shameful to herself as she heard the words she thought she'd never have to hear in her life.
"She has to go soon." The doctor states as Joo jumped back a little. Those words pierced right through her and she couldn't bring herself back together.
Of course her grandma knows the state she's in at the point. She knew she was going to pass soon, which she was already prepared for. From looking at Joo and her two other grandsons, her grandma felt nothing but sorry for them. Especially to Joo who relies on her more than anyone else.
As soon as the doctor leaves the room, Joo goes up to her grandma and kneels down next to the bed.
"On the bright side, there's someone who loves you just as much as I do." Her grandma manages to smile as she looks at Youngmin who stayed by Minho and Tae.
Joo looks over too, and then back to her grandma who still had a smile on.
"I know, that I'm the last one you have left as a parent figure. But when it's time I become a star, you still have Youngmin by your side. And I doubt he'll ever leave."
