The droplets of rain slid down Joo's window slowly and quietly. The morning was cloudy and a bit foggy, but Joo enjoyed that type of weather. Waking up to it was something she's always loved. Every rainy day, she would walk around and go to a patio in her neighborhood where no one even goes to at all. That gave her time to write music, to sing to herself, to even text a friend of hers that's been at Busan for such a long time. That patio was her favorite spot in the world.
Joo woke up a bit tired of course and didn't want to wake anyone else up, but Youngmin. She slowly and quietly made it out her room and into her living room seeing Youngmin curled up into a ball with the blanket she gave him barely covering his body.
"He must've been cold." She whispered to herself as she fixed the blankets position to completely cover Youngmin. His lips curled up into a quick smile and then he went back to snoring. The spongebob pajamas he was wearing were a bit shifted at the top and one of the buttons were off revealing a bit of his chest and collar bone. Then Youngmin began to cough and shiver under the blanket.
Joo was worried that Youngmin would actually end up getting sick so she quickly turned off the AC in her house and took out some vics vapor rub out of her room.
Youngmin's face looked very bloated and pail. His nose seemed red and to her belief, Joo could tell he was getting a cold already. A sigh left her mouth as she sat on the space next to Yougmin on the couch.
Without making any noise, Joo uncapped the vapor rub and took a tad bit in her finger to rub it across Youngmin's upper chest that was exposed to her. It wasn't until Youngmin's eyes twitched open. At first, nothing was clear enough for him to see what was happening until his vision adjusted.
A loud gasp left his mouth as he quickly sat up looking at Joo with his eyes shot open. His eyes shifted from Joo, to her hands, and to his chest, then back to Joo who had nothing, but her plain expressionless face.
"What?" She tilted her head.
Youngmin, almost out of breath, just shook his head and then inhaled deeply from his nose smelling a strong scent of citrus. That's when he looked over at Joo's other hand with the vapor rub in it. "Why were you..uhm, putting that on me?" He spoke up a bit awkwardly.
"You were coughing and your nose seemed stuffed. You practically look dead."
Youngmin blinked his eyes looking at Joo. He was taken aback for what she said and didn't know how to react. It was so straightforward that all he could possibly do was stare. "Uh.."
"I was just kidding." Joo plainly said. She then closed the vapor rub and got up from the couch. She quickly went through her refrigerator looking for something to drink, then turned to Youngmin who was just sitting up staring towards her hallway into blank space. The sound of Joo's glass cup hitting the counter was loud enough for Youngmin to knock into his senses and turn to Joo who was pouring some chocolate milk for her to drink.
"Do you want something?" She asked Youngmin, but instead of answering her, he got up himself and went to the kitchen.
"I can do stuff myself, i'm a man." He jokingly says, but Joo gave no reactipn and just gave Youngmin a quiet "okay." before leaving to go back to her room.
A bit embarrassed, Youngmin scratched the back of his head and chuckled to himself. "Am I really that boring?" He then finds himself a glass cup and poured some orange juice into it. After chugging it down in less than 10 seconds, Youngmin went back to the couch and plopped himself onto it. It was quiet and he had nothing else to do. "I should leave." He thought to himself, but something was refraining him to do so. He wanted to spend time with Joo before the weekend ends.
In about 10 minutes, Joo came back from her room wearing a coat and jeans ready to leave for the patio.
"Oh, you're not coming?" She asked looking at Youngmin who still had the spongebob pajamas on. He looked at himself and back at Joo who stared blankly at him.
"Do you wanna go out with me?"
With those words, Youngmin's eyes shot wide open and he even choked on his spit. "What?" He made sure he wasn't just hearing things.
"I'm going outside to walk...what else did you think?"
Youngmin gave himself a slap on the face and got up. "I-i'll get ready in 5 minutes. But uhm, where are we going?"
Joo smiles and points outside the window like a child pointing out their favorite flavor of icecream on an icecream truck. "We're going to walk in the rain, that's all!"
With that, Youngmin shyly laughs and takes his clothes from last night and dresses up in the bathroom. He fixed his hair and before opening the door, a huge sneeze came out causing his clumsy self to hit his head against the wall. He swore he heard Joo's giggling from outside and when he opened the door, he was right.
Joo's eye smile surprised him as she pointed at his face. "You still look dead."
Youngmin sighed and pouted grabbing Joo's hand leading them out the hallway and to the front door.
"Way to make me more dead, Dukjoo. We're gonna walk in the rain." Youngmin obviously was joking, but Joo stopped walking and stayed at the front door.
"Didn't I tell you last night that if someone calls me Dukjoo and not Joo, will get physically hurt?"
The tone of Joo's voice intimidated Youngmin, but then she flashed her eye smile once more and again, giggled while pointing at Youngmin's face. "Just kidding".
I don't know how she does it, but she's sure something else.
Someone teach me how to write good stories, i feel like i'm lacking in somethings. Buuut anyways, Damn Joo you just rubbed that vapor rub like nothing LOL
