When I went to school I realized that there was a new girl in my first period. Ms. Calipa stood up and told the new girl to introduce herself. The new girl went to the front of the room and began to speak in a soft little voice. " Hello. My name is Ruby Sai," I could see why. She had glowing red hair tied in two French braids and shiny violet eyes. I was spacing out on the idea of a new classmate until I heard a soft little voice saying, "Hi." I looked to see that she was assigned to the empty seat next to me. I said hi back to her. She smiled at me. Her smile was so warm. People were staring at her for the whole class period.

When first period finally came to an end, I asked Ruby if I could see her schedule. She gladly handed it over to me. To my surprise, she had the same schedule as me and Emily. Ruby was really excited that she was going to be hanging out with us for the rest of the day.

At lunch, I introduced Ruby to Abagail and Yolanda. They were all happy to meet each other. Yolanda and I did our usual singing and today we sang King of Anything By: Sara Barilles. But this time we actually sang it together. And we started form the beginning:

Keep drinking coffee staring down across the table,

While I look outside.

So many things I'd say if only I were able,

But I just keep quiet and count the cars that pass by.

You've got opinions man,

We're all entitled to 'em,

But I never asked.

So I thank you for your time and try not to waste anymore of mine,

Get out of here fast.

I hate to break it to you babe,

But I'm not drowning,

Cause there's no one here to save,

Who cares if you disagree,

You are not me,

Who made you king of anything?

So you dare,

Tell me who to be,

Who died,

And made you king of anything...

Ruby looked at both of us in amazement. She wished that she could sing as well as we did. We told her that there was nothing wrong with not being able to sing or not good at singing. If she wants to sing she can sing with us. Ruby decided to join us. She sang a line from the chorus by herself:

Who cares if you disagree,

You are not me who,

Made you king of anything?

Everyone thought that her voice was beautiful. I complimented her angelic singing and she smiled, very brightly. Ruby also became me and Emily's locker partner and roommate. Today I got another good friend, locker partner, and roommate.
