Hello, my name is Avary Middleton (No, I'm not related to the princess, I get asked that a lot) I'm 13 years old and I live in the city of Seattle.

When I was 10 years old, my mother passed away, no one knows how and no one knows why.

It was December 14th 2010 when all the Christmas lights were up and gifts were being bought. My mother went camping with her friend Amanda for the Christmas holidays (I liked Amanda, she had golden hair with green eyes that made you feel all warm inside when she looked at you. She often babysat me when mother and father went to dinner or some fancy shindig. She loved playing board games with my little sister and I when she came over, but when we went to her house we always searched her cupboards because you can find hundreds of board games in there from all over the world, because she loves to travel.)

Mother and Amanda had gone camping so it was just father, Haylee (my little sister) and I.

We kept ourselves occupied until it came the day that mother was coming home. She was meant to be home before 2 o'clock but it was 5 o'clock and we were starting to get worried.

Father called her several times, but no answer. He also called Amanda several times but again, no answer.

We all got in the car and drove to 'Marnique Park and Bushlands' which is where they were camping. We finally got there, the tents were up and their bags were still in the tents. But the question was where were they? Father started calling for them, but all you could hear were the faded noises from birds in the trees.

Haylee was tagging along behind with her iPod listening to One Direction. Ugh, I hate those people, there just another bunch of boys with another bunch of love songs. I could see father start to panic as he said 'Lets go to the police station, get your sister please'

'Haylee!' I yelled pulling out her earphones. 'Get in the car, we're going to find finding mother'

'Baby you light up my world like no body else!' Haylee sung as she walked to the car.

It seemed like Haylee didn't care, I know she did care but One Direction isn't more important than our lost mother! We all had gotten in the car and off we went to the police station.

'Cause you've got that one thing!' Haylee sung.

'Be quiet!' I yelled in her ear taking her headphones out. 'Do you understand what is happening Haylee, mum is lost!' I said losing it.

'Enough Avary, Haylee please leave your headphones out for now sweetheart' my father said.

After many arguments about One Direction we finally got to the police station. They sent out sixteen men on the search for mother and Amanda, after they told us to go home and to not stress too much.
