Prologue: Kim Namjoon

I felt my head pounding from the pile of applications in front of me. All day, all day I've been looking back and forth at applications after applications, many of which seemed to just be the same person applying over and over again. I groaned and I felt like hitting my head against my desk repeatedly or pull my hair out until I'm bald.

I had probably two-hundred papers to go through of different people telling me the same information over and over again, I just wanted something new. A handful of the applicant's were put into a 'maybe' pile, the others were shredded so I didn't have to look at them ever again.

I finally only had about ten papers to go, I was ready to go home and go to sleep, since it was nearing ten o'clock, most of the building has already gone home.

Name: Kim Seokjin

Date of Birth: December 4, 1994

Previous job: Cafe worker (barista and waiter)

Age: 22

Sex: Take me out to dinner first (Male)

I read over that again, making sure I read that right. I chuckled a bit at his answer and shook my head lightly, leaning back in my seat to read more of his application. Once I finished reading his, I sat it back on the large desk in front of me, leaning back into the chair once again.

I began to rub my eyes with my fore finger and thumb, looking at the time on my computer. 9:50 pm.

I glanced over to my left, seeing the vacant desk. Ever since the last assistant resigned, I've been searching for someone to take their place, which obviously hasn't been too easy on my part.

I reached over and shut off my computer, watching the screen go black. I grabbed the remaining papers that weren't in the shredder and put them in my bag, holding it in my hand as I walked out of my office and into the elevator, taking me down to the ground floor.

I made it down and locked the front doors after me. I walked to my car and got it, turning it on and the heater on. I drove out of the parking lot and began on my route to my home.

I was stopped at a red light, which I thought was the worst thing right now, since I was tired from a long day of just wanting to bury my face into a pillow and sleep. I had my window down, contradicting the heater that I turned on, but it felt nice. I let my arm out the window slightly, glancing to my left to see a guy walking on the pavement beside my car.

He was wearing a large sweater and a beanie, making his deep brown hair cover his eyes, but his black, wide-rimmed glasses were till visible. He wore deep blue jeans and brown boots to finish the outfit, honestly he looked pretty good.

I didn't get to look at him any further because the light turned green and I was more worried about getting home and going to sleep as soon as I could. I pulled into the driveway and parked my car, quickly exiting and heading to the front door and unlocking it, locking it again behind me after I step inside.

I had a fairly large house, it wasn't small by any means, but it's also not a mansion by any means either. A three car garage, but I sometimes barely use one of the spaces.

I kicked my shoes off and sat them by the door and trudged up into my bedroom, tossing my bag onto my personal desk and fishing through my closet for something to sleep in tonight

I kicked my shoes off and sat them by the door and trudged up into my bedroom, tossing my bag onto my personal desk and fishing through my closet for something to sleep in tonight.

I walked into the side bathroom and began a warm shower, grabbing two towels and my clean clothes and setting them onto the sink counter. I strip and enter into the steady stream of water.

The near scalding hot water felt nice on my tense muscles, my hair sticking to my skin. I faced towards the shower head, letting the water wash over my face, eventually tilting my head back so I felt the water pound onto my throat, the droplets gliding down my throat and to my chest.

I ducked my head under the water so I could get my hair wet. I grabbed the shampoo and began to wash my hair. I detangled my hair with my fingers as I ran the shampoo through my hair.

I washed it out carefully, being mindful not to get the suds into my eye, but things don't always go as planned.

"Dammit."

I washed my hands off and rubbed my eye. It stings, but it's not the end of the entire world.

I continued and finished, even with the slight sting in my left eye. I stepped out and onto the shower mat and grabbed one of the towels, quickly drying my body and began dressing myself into the clothes I had picked out to sleep in. I began to dry my hair with the second towel, bending over slightly and rubbing my hair with the towel

I sighed as I stood straight again, picking up my tooth brush and brushed my teeth.

Once finished I exited the bathroom and sat on the edge of my bed and rolled my head, hearing my neck pop.

I looked at my nightstand, seeing the digital clock flash 10:38 in big red numbers.

I shrugged my shoulders and groaned, quickly grabbed my bag and the applications within it, which were more important at the moment. I grabbed the not-so-large stack and a pen, along with a loose piece of paper.

I sat agins tthe headboard of my bed, pulling the black covers to cover my legs and lap. I sat my lap desk down and turned off all lights except for my bedside lamp, since it did illuminate most of the room anyway.

I clicked the pen over and over again as I read through all of the applications once more, some of them beginning to sound the same as each others'. I groaned and rubbed my forehead. At this point only seven were left in front of me as possibilities for the job.

None of them had pictures attached, so I had no looks to go off of, which made some of this a little harder. I began to read each one again, but in more detail so I made sure that I made the correct choice.

Some only had one or two years of college behind them, while others had three or more years behind them, so that was an easy ruling out. Now I was down to a manageable four.

I laid them all side-by-side to one another, putting my head into my hands. I ruled out the guy who seemed a bit too serious about the job, I needed someone more... fun.

I spent at least fifteen minutes just looking at the three dreaded pieces of paper in front of me, but I always caught myself looking back to Seokjin's again and again.

I grabbed his and read it again thoroughly, he was nearly perfect for the job, other than some health concerns that we'd have to discuss. He was educated, light-hearted, a bit funny, and who knows, maybe he's cute?

I laughed to myself and grabbed the paper, beginning to write out a letter to him, telling him when I'd like to meet and what to do. I leaned back once I'd finished and stood up from the bed. I grabbed an envelope and wrote the address on the application onto the outside, putting my letter inside and then sealing it properly. I placed it with my things so that I wouldn't forget to put it in the mail tomorrow on my way into work in the morning.

I laid back into my bed and pulled the covers over me, turning the light off and closing my eyes. Soon I felt myself drifting off into a deep sleep, which I really needed after this day I had today.
