Lani Pov (continuing)
"So Scarlett what about this party Carmen's planning?" I smiled wrapping my arms around my legs. "Niah told you!?" She kissed her teeth resting her head on her hand.
"I never said anything about Niah I was guessing that there was a party."
"You're so annoying with your smart ass brain." Scarlett chuckled before unlocking her phone.
"Spill the beans."
"Carmen is having a party for you and Alex. She even got dinner reservations at Legals." "Thank you, babes. She did all that just for us?" Carmen is officially our number one supporter.
"Yeah but now that you know she's gonna have to cancel everything." Scarlett sighed loudly as I facepalmed myself. "No it's okay babes we'll still go, I'll make sure Alex doesn't find out." I got up giving her a hug rubbing her back.
"Promise?" She held out her pinky and locked it with mine. "Just me and you," I said opening the front door for her. I haven't had one hour of sleep. We're not taking any more visitors at this time of night.
"Goodnight hoe" I mumbled before laying down and turning on the tv.
"Since when do you sleep?" Alex is beyond the headache of my life.
"Of course I'm tired, maybe if you kept me occupied I'd be interested in staying up," I said sitting up taking my contacts out.
"There's always tomorrow and the day after that." She crawled up next to me.
"Pass me my glasses." I'm a very blind without my glasses and when I don't have them in I have my contacts
"Nah, I like you this way." Alex smiled laying next to me. I reached over and took my glasses, without my glasses I feel disgusting.
"I ain't know you wanted to ride." She laughed holding my waist. "You're ridiculous." I smiled getting off of her and getting out of bed going into her personal bathroom.
"There's a bathroom down the hall you know?" She took her toothbrush and brushed her teeth. "So go use it," I said after rinsing out my mouth and scooted over so she could do the same.
"Kissy." Alex puckered her lips as I kissed her softly trying not to smile when we kiss Alex always smiles. We went to bed cuddling with each other.
"I'm gonna miss you tomorrow." I covered myself as we settled on "Hey Arnold." "I won't be gone for long, maybe a couple of hours just in time for our date."
I hate how she finds out everything even when you don't want her to know. If her name is mentioned best believe she'll find out. If you wanted to cheat on her then it would be impossible. She has eyes and ears everywhere man I swear.
"You better act like you don't know a damn thing ." I turned facing her."I promise." She ran her fingers over my eyes closing them and turned the tv off.
Alex
Next morning
I feel bad for leaving Lani alone in the house. I might even send Niah to hang out with her. The past few days with Lani has been amazing, I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.
I love how she's new to everything, I love how she's becoming a new person day by day. She'll be the smaller version of me.
My pride is gone and into the field. I could never let work get into the middle of us. Lani has been the girl I've wanted since forever and now I got her.
Me: You wanna be the world's greatest best friend and do me a favor?
Niah🧀: Sure, what's up?
Me: Could you hang out with Lani until I come back from work?
Niah🧀: A day with Lani? Of course, I'll slide👏🏽
Friends like this are the best.
Niah🧀: On my way! Right now! This is fantastic
Me: now! She's still sleeping! Ugh just doesn't wake her up and make sure she eats. Don't be too loud when you come in she gets cranky without enough sleep. Don't yell at her either.
Niah🧀: I'll have everything under control don't worry about a thing. Just go do whatever and be home ON TIME.
My friends are morons that somehow managed to make it to high school. I don't know how but all I know is that the made it.
I sat at the top of the stairs waiting patiently, there was a soft knock at the door and I answered it.
"What's hannin han." Niah came inside and we did our little handshake. "Just chillin." We walked up to the stairs in sync as soft footsteps came towards us.
"Alex." Lani's tiny footsteps made their way to the living room. "Yes, princess?" I looked at her squinted eyes all the way to her sock covered feet.
"Where are you going?" She whispered and rewrapped the blanket around her.
"Nowhere princess." I picked her up and sat down on the couch kissing her head.
"Just making sure." She mumbled burying her face into my neck.
"Niah is gonna stay with you while I'm gone." I rocked her back and forth listening to her say "mhm"
"Wish someone was feeling me like that." Niah sunk into the couch crossing her arms.
Lani crawled into bed holding my hand with her eyes closed. I planted a small kiss on her head before letting go and leaving.
