"Is Alex coming home soon? You're no fun." I laughed looking at the holes in Niah's shirt.
"Hopefully because I've had enough of your psychotic games." Niah sat in the chair away from me and shook her head as I sat the knife down.
"Not my fault you can't run." I grinned while putting my feet up on the glass table.
"I should've let you know that your my only one, said I don't understand how you don't get a man. You want me in your bed cause I've been in your head."
"Hey, Carmen, what's up?" I got up walking to the kitchen and put my phone on speaker.
"Are you ready for tonight?" Carmen squealed through the phone making me smile. "Can't be excited if my significant other isn't here." I pouted before putting mayonnaise on both slices of bread.
"She should be on her way home I'm not sure yet."
"I think it's funny how I'm going on a date and don't even know what time it starts." I laughed with my mouth full.
"It's tonight at 7 so dress nicely for you baby."
"Nah I think imma let her give me head under the table." I smiled and threw my napkin away.
"Yeah, just call me when Alex gets home." We laughed and got off the phone saying our goodbyes.
Jeez, my first date with anyone and this is how it's going. I kinda expected a more romantic scene but I guess this is okay.
"Some flowers would've been nice don't you think?" I sighed plopping down next to Niah. "What do you mean?" Niah looked at me taking a break from her phone.
"I wish Alex sent me flowers for an apology due to her being late. I take a little and make it seem like a lot." If Alex told me she was gonna be gone for so long I would've slept all day.
"Let's go buy you flowers." She smiled while getting up and grabbing another shirt.
"We don't have to it's okay, we can go back." I chuckled as she brought me outside and we stood in the middle of the yard.
"If it's flowers you want, then it's flowers you get."
Niah convinced me to go and I had fun. We went for ice cream and a walk around the park. It wasn't a lot but it was still nice of her to take me. That's all I wanted from the jump, just something small and basic.

It's 6 right now and that's enough time for Alex to get it together. I'm not gonna lie but I really wish it was Alex and I doing all this.
Alex POV
Carmen left like an hour or two and I've been having a blast, get it? Blast. Cause I'm sh-. No? Alright.
The fun thing is I get to go home and relax. I really miss Lani, I haven't seen her all day. Two more hours and I get to go back to her.
My phone died not too long ago and I didn't bring my charger which is a bummer because I was in the middle of a serious iMessage game.
"So why can't I go home now?" I played with the jar of bullets on his desk. "Cause I need you to work this week so I don't have to see your ugly ass next week." He smiled before sipping his water.
"Well I have things to do and inhaling the smell of dead bodies piling up isn't what I had in mind," I said scratching the back of my head.
"Don't worry bro just two hours and you're outta here." He rolled back and forth to his file cabinets.
"Did you just call me bro?" I gagged before laughing. This annoying ass man just called me bro. "I got an errand for you to run." He tossed me a paper-like book filled with info on some guy.
"How much?" I kissed my teeth before going over it.
"A simple 40k." He tossed me two files and I quickly scanned them over. "Great I'll be on my way." I hopped out of the chair and made my way to the door.
2 hours later
I'm finally done and it's only 8 o'clock. I got my money and I've never been happier. I can't wait to go home and see my baby.
I went to McDonald's and saw my history teacher. He's so annoying with all his life stories and whatnot. I opened the front door and took my shoes off.
"Hey, baby." I leaned in for a kiss but Lani moved her face. "Niah, we'll see you tomorrow." Scarlett waved goodbye before getting up and leaving.
Lani grabbed my hand bringing me to the bedroom. "Wassup baby?" I put my hands on her waist and sat down. "Where were you?" She moved my hands off her. "Work." I smiled and played with the belt loops on her pants
"Alex you missed our date. I haven't heard from you all day, do you know how hard Carmen worked to do this for us? It's like you don't even care, our first date and it's down the drain." Her body is hot and her eyes came up to a lighter shade of brown.
"You know you sexy when you're mad?" I stood up taking my jacket off and hung it in the closet. "I'm not done." Lani stood beside me while her chest went up and down slowly.
"I'm listening." I walked to the bathroom turning on the faucet.
"You promised you'd be home before our date. Alex, this was supposed to be our first date and you didn't even come." Lani sighed trying to leave but I grabbed her arm.
"Why are you making a big deal out of this?" I picked her up a sat her on the sink. "You want me to show you off? I'll show you off. I'll treat you right," I kissed on her neck taking her shirt off.
"Get your dirty ass in the shower and maybe I'll forgive you." Lani got off the counter and left after kissing my cheek.
