Alex

"Baby I have to go." Lani laughed as I held onto her. "You not leaving me." I sighed sitting her in my lap. "Alex, you have to let me go." Lani smiled escaping my grip and standing up.

"Why can't you just stay with me?" I teared up crossing my arms looking away from her.

"I have to help my mom finish packing and I don't want to drag you everywhere," Lani said wiping my face with her thumbs.

"I don't care! Drag me all over the world, it doesn't matter!" I mean mugged her while my tears slowly fell down my face.

"I know why you acting like this."

"Why?" I looked at her trying not to smile.

"The way I put it on you last night, got you in love with me!" Lani cheesed before doing her little dance. "Fine, you caught me." I threw my hands in the air rolling my eyes.

"I'll be right back." Lani tried to kiss me but I turned my face away.

"I don't want a kiss," I mumbled ignoring her. "Then I'll see you tonight." She walked away and I grabbed her hand pulling her back.

"Maybe I want a Lil sum." I chuckled as she grabbed my face pecking my lips. "That's it! That's all I get!" She must be crazy thinking that a two-second kiss is gonna last me.

"If I go any longer you're gonna try something."

"Of course I'm gonna try something that's what you do in relationships." I kissed her while she put her hands on my face.

"Alex, I gotta go!" Lani cried letting me go. "What am I'm supposed to do while you're gone?"

"You have friends so talk to them!" She shouted before closing the front door.

"You have friends so talk to them oh shut up." I mimicked her then plopped down on the couch. "You're back already?!" I smiled watching Lani come up the stairs.

"I forgot my phone," Lani said grabbing her phone then kissing my cheek. Ouch, man, do I have to murder someone just to get you to stay?

Lani

"Ma, I think I wanna have a baby with Alex." I folded clothes and put them in boxes.

"You can't be sure of what you want. You're only 18 and haven't even graduated." I ain't ask you to point that out did I? I ain't ask for your opinion.

"Whatever you say." I rolled my eyes thinking about if I and Alex did have a baby. The crazy thing is Alex is literally my first girlfriend, I never messed with anyone before Alex.

"Lani, are you listening?" My mom said pinching my arm. "Yeah sorry, I just spaced out," I mumbled carrying boxes to the living room one at a time.

"Ma do you like Alex?" I asked sitting down on my bed looking at my empty room. My dad has been working more than usual so it's just me and my mom who talk.

"Honey, I'd like to get this done." She labeled the last two boxes taking the last of our stuff we had and put them inside.

"Fine." I laid on my bed looking at my empty room, my empty closet. I haven't even lived here for that long and I'm already leaving.

That's ridiculous! I have to fight for my ground because I'm not going anywhere without a fight. I am grown! My momma can't bark orders at me.

"Ma!"

"What can I do for you?"

I took a deep breath standing up in front of her. "I'm 18 years old and I'm gonna graduate soon. So I think the best idea would be for you to let me make my own decisions. I can get a job and live with Alex and take care of myself, it's time for you to let me go." Wow, I really did that!

"You're right."

You mean to tell me all I had to do was say a bunch of bs and you'd let me leave?

"Really!" I looked at her wide-eyed.

"No! You're moving with us and that's final. Talking about some let you stay girl please." She kissed her teeth closing my door.

Well, I tried.

"What's the point of doing this if y'all never gonna see each other?" I sat down in a chair flipping through a magazine.

"You're just mad cause yeen in love," Alex said sticking her middle finger at me. "And I don't want to be in love." I gagged at the last word

"She went like this one," Alex said taking the ring from our personal jeweler. We have money regardless so spending money is easy.

"That's pretty big." I gazed at the ring in her Alexs' palms watching it glisten.

"She's my baby and I'll do anything for her." "Are you- are you crying?" I stifled a laugh watching her wipe her eyes. "My eyes just sweaty it's hot in here." She looked down at the ring putting it in its box.

"Damn man you got it bad." I rubbed Alexs' back getting in the car.

"You know how hard I tried just for her to stay with me this morning?" Alex said shaking her head putting her seatbelt on.

"That's not important right now, what's important is that you figure out how you're gonna do this."

"I know what I'm doing just don't mess up on your half part or I'll kill you," Alex mumbled scrolling through her phone.

I can't believe this is happening man. Almost everybody in a relationship except me and that's starting to bother me.

"When is she leaving?" I kept my eyes on the road turning into the mall parking lot. "Two days." She sighed putting her hands on her head.

"I want a future with Lani, I haven't been the best girlfriend but I'm still trying. But Lani puts a smile on my face even when we're not together." Alex smiled while looking at her lock screen of Lani.

"Boutta make me cry and shit." I quickly wiped my eyes then started up the car. Alex is my closet friend, I'll give her my last because I know she'd do the same for me.

If Alex is happy then I'm happy for her.
