Today is the talent show and I just want to get it over with, last night was too much for me and that's all I can say.
"Hey," Lexi said wrapping her arm around me. "What's up?" We walked to class and sat next to each other, everybody's minding their business in their own world.
"Just checking on my seedling." Lexi smiled taking out last night's homework. "Thank you." I cheesed swiping up her worksheet and copied her answers.
"You don't look prepared at all." Lexi laughed before putting her feet up on the desk.
"It's just another day." I have Lexi her paper then put my head down. Last night was really heartbreaking for me but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
"You're gonna do good today."
"Thanks," I mumbled looking at the floor. I don't know if I should cry or just move on with my life.
"All students may now go to the auditorium. I repeat head to the theater room."
Everybody came out of their classrooms wondering the auditorium. "Wish me luck," I said kissing Lexis' cheek and walking ahead. I took my seat with all the other contestants. Let's just get this over with.
I was the third person to go, I wasn't scared or nothing maybe a little nervous. I smiled coming on stage and adjusting the microphone to my height.
"Go figure, you were the trigger. You brought me to an obstructed view when you knew the picture was bigger. Who am I kidding? Knew from the beginning, you'd ruin everything, you'd do it every time. You are my enemy, you are no friend of mine."
"I just turned the lights out now, And you know when the sun go down that's when it would all go down. Been a minute, been a while ain't let nobody hit it since you hit it. You know you always know what to do with it, but ain't no me and you without you in it."
"Don't know what I'm capable of, might mess around and go crazy on cuz, might mess around have to pay me in blood. This ain't the way that you want it, Might catch a case in this bitch, don't let me catch you face to face in this bitch. Trying my hardest not to disrespect you, after what you did man, what you expected?"
"I'm triggered when I see your face! Triggered, when I hear your name! Triggered, I am not okay! You need to stay out my way."
I smiled getting off the stage ignoring the applause, I put my heart into that song and if I don't win this thing was rigged. I left the auditorium and decided to walk around.
"These are for you." I felt a light tap on my shoulder. Only to see Trey holding flowers. "What are you-?" He ran off without letting me finish my sentence.
"Favorite memory: When you asked me out, I still can't believe you beat me to it. But I bet you can't beat me to the gym!"
I smiled reading the card, I was halfway to the gym but I was stopped by Lexi holding a heart-shaped box with a note.
"This is for you." Lexi smiled giving me the red heart-shaped box, I blushed looking for the note.
Favorite thing about you: You... that's my answer. Girl you still ain't at the gym yet!?
I made it to the gym seeing Niah, Scarlett, and Carmen holding balloons. The gym had a banner that read "I love you" hanging from the ceiling.
"Alex can be stupid but you put her in check." Niah grinned passing me her two balloons, I moved on to Scarlett. "You're the best thing that's happened to Alex, plus I think you're cool and like having you around." Scarlett gave me my balloons and I gave her a hug in return. "Alex doesn't shut up about you but you make her happy."
"What I did was wrong but I want to put that behind us, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Alex said sincerely, I believe her this time and she went through all this to prove she wants me.
"I just want my princess back." Alex held my waist letting me wrap my arms around her. This is really my favorite position. "No more games baby just me and you." Alex smiles before kissing me.
I don't want to exaggerate but Alex is my everything and I want to give the world to her.

"What's wrong? I thought we were cool." I stood behind Lani kissing her neck. "Yeah, I'm just finishing up a paper." Lani lifted her glasses rubbing her eyes. "Let me know if you need anything."
She's been working so hard lately, I'm ready to spoil her. I sat at the island spinning around in my chair. Lani took off her glasses and put her head down, I don't know if I should say something because she's in the zone.
"Can you make me something to eat?" Lani grabbed my hand rubbing my knuckles."Whatever you want." I got up opening the fridge looking for things she'd want to eat.

"Come to bed." I yawned leaning against the door. "In a minute, I'm almost done." Lani scratched her head typing away on her laptop, she's been up since god knows how long.
"All done." Lani closed the computer walking over to me. I pulled her shirt over her head and slid down her basketball shorts. "You good?" I picked Lani up wrapping her arms around.
"I'm tired." She said in the crook of my neck, I laid down letting Lani lay on top of me. "Goodnight," I whispered lightly kissing her forehead.
This is what happens, moments like these are really what matter.
