Days came and went, until the 13th of May, Daniel's birthday. Rosemary woke up early, she had her birthday present for him in a big blue box, that she held in her arms. Rosemary went down to the kitchens and saw the house elves cooking breakfast. Her family had already freed their house elves a long time ago, but since they had nowhere to go and were quite loyal to the Costelles, they stayed at the manor and continued working as they normally would. The Costelles house elves had big ears, big nose and had big watery eyes, they were as tall as goblins and had suits made specially for them on. The Costelles liked things clean and pretty, it was just naturel that if the Costelles should have normal clothes, then the house elves should also have clothes, because they were still living, breathing creatures with feelings like humans.
"Excuse me, may I ask you something?" Rosemary asked.
All the house elves looked at her at once.
"Yes Miss. Costelle, anything for Miss. Costelle. What would Miss. Costelle like?" One of the house elves asked curiously – her name was Dibsy.
Rosemary smiled kindly at them. She always liked house elves.
"You do not have to call me Miss. Costelle, as I have told you many times before, you can just call me Rosemary, just call me whatever you feel comfortable with. Would you mind cooking breakfast for Daniel and I? If you do not mind, could you please cook two chocolate cakes and two chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream on top?" Rosemary asked kindly.
The house elves nodded happily. They loved Miss. Costelle very much. She was always so kind to them, and would take care of them when they were sick, even though she didn't need to. She would also get them Christmas presents. She was so very kind. All the Costelles were kind to them, they could not imagine being happier in another wizard family.
It was in a matter of minutes, and the breakfast was ready. Rosemary smiled widely at the house elves, she loved them very much, the house elves were always so nice to her and everybody else.
"Thank you. I am so sorry for using your time, but thank you very much. It smells so delicious. Thank you." Rosemary thanked them for breakfast, and took the tray with the food on it and went her way to the fireplace to floo over to Daniel's house. But before flooing to Daniel's, she went into her parents' bedroom, to tell them that she would be at Daniel's, she debated whether to wake her mother or father up. After some time thinking, she chose to wake her father up. Rosemary went over to her father and shook him awake, gently.
"Daddy? Dad?" Rosemary gently asked, her father waking up slowly.
"Rose? What are you doing up this early? Is something wrong sweetheart?" Her father worryingly asked.
"No daddy, I am perfectly fine. I was just going to tell you that I would go visit Daniel, since it is his birthday today. I am sorry for waking you up dad, but I just thought that you should know, in case you would get worried over not knowing where I am." Rosemary told her father.
Rosemary's father looked at her proudly. He could not believe how well-mannered and polite his beautiful daughter was. And on top of that she was also quite clever and talented. He could not wish for a more perfect daughter, in his eyes. Of course, every parent thinks their child is perfect.
"Don't worry sweetheart, daddy isn't mad at you. I'm very proud of you for telling me where you are going to be. And tell Daniel happy birthday from me." Rosemary's father told his daughter with love shining through his eyes.
"Thank you, daddy. I love you."
"Love you too, sweetheart."
Rosemary kissed her father's cheek in goodbye, and went over to the fireplace. She checked if she had everything with her – and she did – then she took a pinch of floo powder and threw it down yelling: "MICHAELS HOUSEHOLD!".
