Chapter 4

The family hears a car stop.

Kartik comes to the house entrance with Kanav, Nirvaan and Daima.
All come rushing to meet them And hug him and the sleepy kids.

Gayu and Keerti take the sleeping kids from him into their arms showering them with kisses as does the rest of the family with the kids squirming in sleep.

Naksh- kartik! Naira kahan hai?

Kartik looks towards the car. N everyone's gaze follows his to see Naira get down from the car with someone and every one gets shocked.

Naksh-- ye ye! Kya?!matlab ?

Choti dadi- haan ye kiska?tumhara? Nhi...ye kaise...kartik! Naira! Bolo!

Naira had by then come to the enterance holding a tiny baby wrapped securely in pink blankets.

Naira-- ji dadi...ye hamari beti hai...

Everyone is shocked n also upset with kartik n naira but more than anything are confused as to why did they hide such an amazing news from their own family and why wud they hav to behave wierdly with their own family.

Naksh-- kartik! naira! Tumne humse chupaya?kyu? Matlab tumlogon ke liye hamari ye importance hai? Toh ye vo vajah hai ki tum humse....?

Kartik n naira cut him in unison-- "bhai!" "Naksh"

Kartik-- I understand naksh tum, aur aap sab humse bahut naraaz honge but please kya hum andar chal sakte hain pehle... baby ke liye bahut thanda hai bahar plus the weather change from london to delhi....uske incubator bed mein hi rakhna hai usse abhi...tabiyat kharab hojayegi warna...

Naira-- haan pls.

All nod n make way ...

Naitik-- haan haan chalo pehle andar chalo sab hatjao....aao naira andar.

Choti dadi- ruko...ek minute...bas.

Naira- dadi baad mein gussa ho lena pls...

Choti dadi while going to get something--- vo toh main hungi hii...par abhi tum chup raho do minute...andar mat aana.

N gets back with a Arti ki thali...n does their arti.

Choti dadi-- apne bachon ko bina arti ke kaise andar laate, khaskar iss chote se baby ko...aajao ab.

All are emotional.

Naira enters holding the baby securely n kartik is rushing in and out of the car and house, arranging things, with Naksh, Vivaan and Chitti uncle trying to help him.

Rajshree Nani-- arrey humein bataya nhi par ab toh godh mein dede...and beta hai ya beti?

Mishti -- beti!

Naira nods, smiling but doesnt give the baby.

Karishma- tumhein pata tha kya, mishti ?

Mishti-- nhi nhi! Uss baat pe toh main inse aur bff dono se bahut gussa hu..kisi ko nhi batana tha toh nhi batate par mujhe bhi nhi bataya!! Huh!! But aapsab na thoda focus kijiye baby ka blanket pink hai...kapde pink hai n naira dii ke haath wala baby bag bhi. Isiliye kaha.

Keerti- arrey mishti..phir toh tumhara tukka (guess)laga hai...kyuki jab Nirvaan hua tha kartik ne itna pink samaan liya tha sochkar ki beti hui agar toh...ki hum uske liye bhi kai baar pink use karlete they...yaad hai naira?.....par main tumse nhi baat kar rhi hu.

Naira- sorry mishti!!! And pls keerti di...humein explain karne dijiyega...bas ek baar baby ko settle kardein incubator mein,doctor chek karlein usse,phir sab batadenge...jitna gussa karna hai karlena tab but baat karna mat band kijiye.

All of thr family is suddenly  nervous and scared sensing naira's stress and kartik's panic while arranging. They are hesitating to even ask a question.

Rajshree nani-- bitiya rani! ye kartik machine laga raha hai...tum dono itne pareshan ho....doctor bhi bulaye hain. Tu kisi ki godh mei bhi nhi de rahi bachhi ko...kya baat hai? Ye sab kyu?
Sab thik toh hai na....

Naira is abt to answer when kartik calls out to her to get the baby.

She goes n so does Daima with necessities. All three of them settle the baby in who is squirming now. When a team of doctors to whom kartik n the london doctors had spoken to, enters.

They evaluate the baby...connect some lines to her, coordinate with london doctors n leave after giving the necessary instructions to kartik and naira...teaching them some manouevers for emergency and testing them.
3 senior nurses stay behind who are here with their luggage n medicine bags.kartik speaks to naksh who goes on with them to get the nurses settled.

After about 2 and a half hours of their reaching singhania house,there is some silence in the house apart from the intermittent beeping sounds of their baby girls monitors who is in their constant supervision along with nurse's.
Kartik and naira settle down with their family, who by now have forgotten their anger and is just very deeply worried and confused as to what is going on.

All they understand as of now is that something is or has been terribly wrong.

Kartik now relieved a bit, laughs slightly--- aap sab ko shock dediya humne...Sorry...janta hu! Humein bahut saari cheezon ke liye aapse maafi mangni hai...pls humein maaf kardijiye...situation aisi...khair! Koi excuses nhi de rahe hain hum.

Kartik is holding naira's (who is looking down) hand all this while almost as if they are holding on to each other for support,which doesnt go unnoticed by the family.

Keerti and Gayu come to them. Keerti keeps a hand on kartik's shoulder and gayu hugs naira who is by now sobbing.

Kartik half hugs naira asking her to relax.

Keerti--kartik! naira! Hum sab tumhari family hain... hum hamesha tumhare saath hain.

Gayu- dekh naira! Tu ro mat... marungi main warna...darr lag raha hai mujhe...dekh jo bhi hua koi baat nhi...tum batao humein...hum sab milkar sab thik kardenge...hum sab, tum dono ke saath hain...

Naitik also comes and keeps his hands on both their heads.

Naksh also side hugs naira and kartik.

Naitik- princess!! Iss duniya mein aisa kuch nhi jo tum apne papa ko batane se darro...tumhare papa budhe zaroor hogye hain but kamzor nhi... hum sabke liye tumhein aur kartik ko takleef mein dekhne se bada dard kuch nahi hai aur tum naa batakar sirf usse zyada karoge...humein pls batado sach.

Naira and kartik regain some of their composure. Naira gestures, almost as a request, to kartik to start to tell them.
Kartik nods and starts.

Ps- am so sorryyyy guys for the late chapter as i mentioned in the note, there were some unavoidable reasons.

So here is the chapter...hope i havent dissapointed any1...
This chapter and baby backstory is particularly very close to my heart having been closely associated with it.

Bcos i feel the growth or decline in a couple's journey can never be affected by any other thing, as much as by facing their child'life and health in jeopardy.
Its a "make or break" sort of situation.

Either it strengthens the bond for life or breaks the bond of a lifetime.

I hope and pray nobody every has to go through this pain. And, if someone is right now, I wish God gives them the hope, the courage and strength to steer through with their relationship stronger.
