Our Happiness

Chapter 3

Kartik and Naira Reach the hospital and before meeting the doctor pray to their Krishna Ji asking him to finally give them the happiness they have only recieved in installments and again gets snatched from them, in the past few months.

Just as they are about to enter,

Naira gets Naksh's Call. Kartik asks her to pick it up first.

Naira-- hello, Bhai.

Naksh-- kya hai ye,Naira?! Kabse call kar raha hu? Kitni tension ho rhi thi humein...

Naira-sorry bhai vo hum bahar aaye huye they toh call nhi dekha n kartik ke phone ki battery bhi khatam hogyi thi...sab thik hai, aap stress mat lo...am so sorry.

Naksh-- achha thik hai...but dhyaan rakha karo tum dono...pata nhi kya hua h tumhe...na khud se koi call...naa hi call ka thik se jawaab...sab thik hai na?

Naira-- haan bhai...main thoda jaldi mein hu...bataiye kyu call kiya tha? Sab thik h na ghar pe?

Naksh-- haan sab thik hain.vo hum sab aane ka plan kar rahe they wahaan.isliye puchne ke liye ki kahin tum log kahin bahar toh nhi ja rahe...bachhon ke vacations hain na?

Naira-- kya? Aap sab yaha?...vo darasal bhai...haan actually hum bahaar ja rahe hai...main aapko na batati hu...aap tab hi plan kijiyega...abhi nahi...

Naksh- arrey thik hai par kahan? Aur bataya bhi nahi kuch...tu aise kyu mana kar rahi hai?

Naira- kuch nahi bhai...sab thik hai...pls abhi mat plan kijiye...main aapko sab confirm karke batati hu.bye.

Naksh--ok...par...

Naira cuts the call and Naksh gets tensed. Kartik just gives naira a understanding look for the way she had to lie to her Family,yet again.

Kartik and Naira holding each others hand enter the most reputed Doctor, Dr.John 's cabin...scared to the core as to what he might disclose today, at his end-of-the-day meet with patient's attendants.

The usually reserved doctor takes one look at them n smiles today,motioning them to sit.

Dr John-- i am afraid...

Naira n Kartik stiffen.

Naira- pls try once...dont give up...

Dr John-- Relax Mam....let me complete... its good news....i am afraid we need to cancel the hard earned Dr Mark's visit. She is doing much better...has responded well to the new treatment.no seizures no hypoglycemia no hypocalcemia, brain injury or other risks we were worried about...her latest lab and radiology scan reports have just come in...and all hold nothing but Good News... congratulations...ur love, hard work and dedication to her well being above all, Has finally brought you some Great results...

Naira can't hold back her tears n Kartik pats her back but is super emotional too.

Naira--  Krishna ji ne finally humein hamari khushi dedi hai...

Kartik sidehugs her n says-- thank u krishna ji...thank u soo much. N Thank u sooo soo much doctor...for not giving up on her even when all other specialists asked you to...u hav put in so much effort...we will be eternally  grateful to you.

Dr John- u dont have to thank me Mr Kartik. Saving lives is what all doctors try to do...but yes this one was special...because no one could ever say she'd make it through...but u guys kept faith...she is a Fighter...now go celebrate! She'd be discharged soon,in around 2 or 3 days...more bcos we dont want her to have the risk of hospital acquired infections.
