I woke up coughing, I couldn't breathe. It was pitch black and boiling hot. Desperate for air, I started to kick. Kicking hard enough, I was immediately covered by dirt. Making my way through the dirt, my eyes were pierced by sunlight. I climbed from beneath the dirt, brushing myself off.
I looked around, confused at where I was. I was surrounded by...graves. Why would she leave me by myself in a graveyard? Maybe she came to visit someone and forgot me here? I needed to find her quickly. I left the cemetery, entering the nearest corner store. I knew I looked strange in a suit covered in dirt. I stopped at the counter, getting a weird look from the cashier. "Excuse me, is there a phone I could use?" I asked. She nodded, directing me towards the back of the store.
I dialed Lauren's number, desperately needing to see her. There was no answer. I thanked the woman at the counter as I left the store. "Lauren, how am I supposed to get to you now?" I sighed. I remembered she'd given me a locket that I'd never taken off. I opened it, smiling like an idiot at the picture inside. It was a nude picture of Lauren. I took it the night after our first time together. "We were such weirdos," I laughed.
I caught a taxi, only remembering the name of the studio they used to record at. I explained to the cab driver my situation, he felt sympathy for me, letting me take this ride for free. I thanked him when we arrived, hopping out quickly. It felt like I hadn't seen Lauren in forever, I only remember hearing her voice.
Inside the building, I went to the woman at the front desk. "Excuse me, I don't mean to be a bother but does Fifth Harmony still record here?" I asked. "That's confidential information that I can't give out like that," she replied. "Look, I've had a rough day so just tell me a yes or a no," I said. "No, they transferred a while ago," she sassed. "To where?" I asked, getting irritated. "Nice try, you're a crazed fan. Now leave or I'll have you escorted out," she threatened.
I grunted, remaining in my spot. "I'm not leaving until I get an answer. You better start talking or else," I threatened. She was about to speak but was interrupted by the door. The four of them walked in laughing at talking, followed by their security. It seems they'd came from lunch. "You're a fucking liar," I spat.
I tried to run over to Lauren but I was held back by their security. Why would security do that to me? "What are you doing? I need to see Lauren," I said. He shook his head, blocking me from her. "Lauren, don't you remember me?" I yelled. She turned around slowly, locking eyes with me. I didn't get the reaction I'd predicted. She burst into tears, running away down the long hall.
"Wow, real nice," Ally said. "What did I do? Guys it's me, Y/N," I said. "No it's not, asshole. You went out of your way to make her upset," Dinah said angrily. I didn't understand what was going. "I swear I'm didn't mean anything. I'm not lying to you guys. I can prove it," I said. The exchanged some looks, allowing me to show them I was me. Why would I impersonate myself?
"You have one chance. We'll be kicking your ass afterwards for lying," Normani said. We walked into the room where Lauren was buried in the couch. "Lauren, we know you're hurting about this. We're here for you okay, she just wants to talk to you," Ally said. Lauren sat up, her hair messy and face red. I felt like garbage making her cry. I thought she'd be happy to see me.
I sat next her, gently touching her back. "Don't touch her!" Dinah yelled. I quickly pulled my hand away, terrified that they'd beat me up. "I didn't mean to make you cry, I feel terrible. I know you don't believe it's me and I don't know why. I can show you that it's really me," I said. She sniffled, moving the hair out of her face. She reached out for my locket, examining it. She opened it, her lips forming a smile. "Where did you get this?" She asked, trying to take it off of me. "No. You gave it to me on our third date, I've never taken it off and you know that," I replied. "Look I don't know if you think this is funny but it's so insensitive of you. My girlfriend died three years ago and you walk in here to patronize me?" She frowned. "What? I...I...died?" I gasped. "You didn't die, she did! Just go, I've heard enough of your fucking lies!" She yelled.
This resulted in me getting my ass kicked. They beat me up until I'd bled then had their security throw me out. I sat on the curb with blood dripping down my face. I didn't get why she'd even doubt that I was myself. I couldn't have actually.......died...I couldn't have.
