Three years later, me and Alyssa both turn twenty years old. We were also planning on moving to California since it was legal to marry your cousin. We were packing our suitcases with everything we had. We were both planning on going to college as well. Alyssa was planning on going into cosmetology, but I knew she would end up in that department. I was set on getting a journalist degree.

"Hey Hannah?" Alyssa said.

"Hm?" She came over to me and sat next to me as I packed my things.

"Are you nervous? Cause I am..."

"Well yeah I am. But I know we will be fine." I reassured her, smiling. She smiled back at me and laid down on my bed.

"I love you" she says.

"I love you too hon" I reply, looking at her. She pulls me onto the bed and I squeal as she puts me on top of her.

"Come here and kiss me you fool" she says in a funny high pitched voice. We both crack up and kiss each other passionately.

The next day, we wake up at six in the morning to get ready for our flight. We took a shower and then got dressed. My mom, dad, Juliet and Jack were all going to drop us off then say their final goodbyes. Mom was crying and Juliet was too. Jack was half asleep so he didn't say much but I knew he was gonna miss me.

On our way to our terminal, me and Alyssa grabbed some Dunkin Donuts. We sipped our coffees and joked around. Getting to our terminal was very emotional for the both of us. We were ready to start our lives with each other. Alyssa was the first to start bawling her eyes out, then I followed. Our parents watched us as we blubbered like babies.

"I wish you girls the best of luck in California..." Juliet gushed, kissing us both on the cheek. "You two need to write to us." she adds, giggling. Dad comes over to us and kisses the top of our heads.

"You two girls are so smart and beautiful. I do hope that you two keep being together and eventually, start a family one day. I would love to be a grandfather" dad says with a grin. I smile back at my dad, hug him tight and kiss his cheek.

"I love you dad.." I whisper, tears forming in my eyes again.

"I love you too cinnamon bun" he whispers back. I smile at the nickname he gives me for the day and then I go over to mom. Mom still has trouble accepting me but she tries her hardest.

"Oh honey, I sure do hope that one day you will come back and visit your old mother" she says with a chuckle.

"Oh, you aren't that old mom" I laughed, hugging her tight. I give her a kiss and then move on to Jack. He looks at me sleepily and rubs his eyes.

"Listen up squirt, I know that me and you don't always get along but I will always be your big sister. You work hard in school now you hear me?" He nods and yawns in my face but I give him a giant smooch on the top of his head.

"I'm gonna miss you..." he mumbles, looking down at the ground.

"I'll miss you more" I reply, hugging him once more. Me and Alyssa wave one more last goodbye before walking in through the doors.

This was definitely the beginning of a new chapter.

A year passes, me and Alyssa are living in Imperial Beach, California happily. We own a giant beach house and both working hard for our degrees. As a part time job, I work in a souvenir shop while Alyssa works in a Walgreens as assistant manager. We both earn a decent salary but are happy with what we have. One day, Alyssa asks about children.

"You know... I would like to start a family" she says.

"Me too... we should adopt a child." I suggest. She nods her head excitedly at the idea.

"Yeah! Let's do it!" she exclaims.

After some further research, we find an adoption center not far from Imperial Beach and go there. After some discussing, we decide on adopting a cute five year old girl by the name of Harper. She had a fair skin tone with light blonde hair and brown eyes. She looked like our actual child, it was amazing. She was a sweet girl with so much energy and passion. She loved to sing and dance to Marina and The Diamond songs whenever Alyssa played a CD for her. She was obssessed with chicken nuggets and thought it was the best thing ever to have two mommies. She never complained of not having a daddy and that's what made me the happiest.

One night, I was putting her to bed and reading her a bedtime story. Before I left the room, she stopped me.

"Mommy?"

"Yes darling?" I ask, turning my head towards her. She curls up under the covers and looks at me with her gorgeous brown eyes.

"Is it okay if I marry a girl one day?" I smile at her and nod.

"Of course sweetie, whatever makes you happy...makes me happy. Goodnight"

"Goodnight mommy" she says, closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.

I close the door and Alyssa is in front of me, she wraps her arms around my waist and starts to kiss me passionately. We make our way into the bedroom and close the door.

I think you all know what happens next.

Remember, don't be afraid to be different and stand out from a crowd. Girls, it's okay to like girls. Boys, it's okay to like boys. Heck, it's okay to like both. If people judge you, screw them. They can judge all they want but don't let somebody tell you to be something you're not or force you to being something that you aren't. You are your own person, you know yourself best. Don't feel misplaced, because you will soon find where you belong. I found my place. So will you.

Stay strong.
