Five minutes later, an ambulance drives up to the house and takes Alyssa away. They tell me to come with and contact a family member. I call dad first. He doesn't pick up his cell phone so I call his work.

"Benjamin's Inc. This is Edward Rolstein, how can I assist you?"

"Hello sir.. is my father Richard Summer there? This is an emergency."

"I am sorry but your father is out right now. Should I leave him a message?"

"It is an EMERGENCY sir. I need help."

"What kind of emergency?" this guy is an absolute dumb ass. Who gave him this job? I face palm myself and tell him.

"Sir, my cousin is being rushed to the hospital right now. I need to have an adult with me right now."

"Well young lady, your father is currently out. I apologize." I sigh in frustration and hang up on the guy.

"What a dick.." I mutter, rushing over to Alyssa. "Alyssa? Look at me." her eyes blink open slowly and she looks up at me with confusion.

"Wha-what happened?" she mumbles sleepily. I lift up her left arm and show her. That really wakes her up because her eyes bulge out of her eye sockets. She gasps and begins to cry. I hold her hand as she cries. "What have I done?!" she bawls, touching the scars. I take her hand away.

"Hey, don't touch them. I don't want them getting infected." I say. She looks up at me. Her blue eyes are extremely gloomy. They are the color of stormy clouds. She just keeps looking at me in guilt.

"Oh Hannah... I feel awful. I came home and I started to cry so much. Everything became a blur. Next thing I knew, I was in the bathroom holding the knife to my arm... did you call dad?" she asks.

"I did, but this stupid dick boss of his said he was out and can't contact him." I said angrily. "Who hired him? A monkey?" I muttered. She let out a little giggle. I smiled at the sound of her laugh. I brushed some hair out of her face. We must have arrived at the hospital because the back doors opened and the paramedics grabbed the stretcher that she was on, taking her out of the ambulance.

I run along by the stretcher, trying to keep her talking. These guys sure move fast because I am out of breath just trying to catch up to her.

"Call aunt Juliet." she says, before being whisked away to the emergency room. A paramedic tells me to sit down so I do so. I call aunt Juliet. She picks up on the fourth ring.

"Hello? Hannah?" she sounds like she is out of breath. She must have been jogging or doing some type of exercise.

"Juliet? Yeah, it's me."

"What's going on dear?"

"Alyssa is in the hospital right now.." there is some silence on the line. For a second, I thought she dropped her phone.

"Hello?" I say.

"What happened Hannah!?"

"She texted me while I was at the libary in school and I came home to see her in the bathroom with a kitchen knife, bleeding scars on her left arm." I heard her gasp in shock.

"What hospital are you guys at?"

"St Barnard Hospital" the minute I tell her the hospital, she hangs up on me. I put my phone back in my pocket and sit in the chair, anxiously waiting for her to come out of that emergency room.

Ten minutes later, Juliet bursts through the doors and runs over to me. She grabs my hands.

"Where is she?!" she asks, practically screaming.

"She is in the emergency room..I got no information so far." I explain. Her hands land on the top of her head and she sits down next to me, taking deep breaths.

"Where's Richard?" she asks.

"I called his cell but no answer, then I called his work but his stupid boss said he was out and wouldn't let me talk any further." Aunt Juliet rolled her eyes and buried her face in her hands. She began to cry so I leaned my head on her shoulder.

Another ten minutes pass and a doctor comes out of the emergency room. We give him a look that says "we want answers." He walks over to us and introduces himself.

"Hello. My name is Dr.Reiter. May I ask who I am speaking to?" he asks, averting his eyes from Juliet to me.

"I'm Hannah Summer, her cousin."

"I'm Juliet Greenfield, her mother."

He nods at us both in greeting then takes out a clipboard. He looks it over, reading what the paramedics wrote.

"She is really badly cut, I can tell you that. The scars won't go away for a very long time. Right now, she is sleeping and they put her on some medication. She has to stay in the hospital for at least two weeks and then we will transfer to a pyschologist to help her." Dr.Reiter explains. Juliet looks extremely disappointed but she nods.

"Okay sir.." I reply softly. He looks really upset and gives us both sympathetic smiles.

"I can assure you she will be okay. You are free to go and see her." he says, before walking back into the emergency room. Me and Juliet both agree to go and see her. We find her in the fourth room, laying there. She is peacefully sleeping, slightly snoring. She has a small cast on her arm to hide the scars and an IV for some reason. I walk over to her and let tears stream down my face.

"I am absolutely horrified... I did this to you. This is all my fault... " I sobbed softly at first but then they became louder so I started to wail, holding her hand and repeating "I'm sorry" over and over again. Juliet comes over to me, putting a hand on my shoulder as I cry. I can hear her sniffling and blowing her nose. Somebody comes into the room.

"Everything alright m'am?" the man asks, referring to me. I lift my head up, wipe my runny nose and nod.

"She will be alright, I promise..." he says, walking over to Alyssa. I take a look at him. He is a dark skinned middle aged man with curly black hair and sweet, warm green eyes. He seemed to know what he was doing. He observed Alyssa and wrote down something on a clipboard. He gives me a smile and I smile back.

"She seems fine at the moment. The medicine we gave her is gonna make her sleep for a few days, but she will get used to it soon. Since you guys are family, you can visit any time you want. If friends want to visit her, they can only do so on Saturdays and Sundays. Good day ladies." he stands up and walks out of the room.

"Come on Hannah, I'll get you home.." Juliet says. I nod and give Alyssa a soft kiss on the forehead.

"Meet me by the elevator okay?" I nod my head and she walks out of the room. I look over Alyssa's angelic face and sigh sadly.

"I'll come by tomorrow Alyssa..." I say, running a hand through her hair. I give her a small light kiss on her lips and am about to walk out of the room when...

"Hannah..." a voice rasps from behind me. I turn around and Alyssa squints her eyes at me. My heart skips a beat and I look at her in awe. She blows me a kiss and says something that I did not expect.

"I love you." Tears began to form in the corner of my eyes. I wiped them away and looked right back at her.

"I love you too Alyssa..." I whisper, blowing a kiss back and closing the door.
