Mickey Milkovich had always been a softie. He was the youngest of his brothers, and even though Mandy came last in the Milkovich household age wise, she might as well have been the oldest. He was soft spoken, gentle; when he wanted to be. There were times he'd speak up for himself, for his family, if need be. Otherwise, he was soft.

He first met Ian Gallagher when he came over for some tutoring from Mandy. Of course, Mickey had seen the familiar tango of Mandy plus neighbor boy before, and was thoroughly surprised when there was actual tutoring as apposed to pretending his sister wasn't getting dicked down the hallway.

It was nothing more than a swift acknowledgment, that somehow still left Mickey's eyebrows furrowing in curiosity.

It wasn't until Mandy heartily declared from her bedroom, "if you need math help, ask my brother. I'm shitty at algebra." Mickey perked up in interest from where he sat doing his college theatre homework in the living room, the television droning on in background noise.

Play it cool, he thought to himself, hearing heavy footfalls get louder as Ian emerged from the hallway. He flicked his gaze up, feigning disinterest, before his eyes flit back down to his homework.

"You Mandy's brother?" Ian asked, sounding effortlessly casual in a way Mickey would kill to be.

"Nah, I just free load here. That's why you see me whenever you come around," he murmured, jotting down some notes. He wasn't sure if he sounded awkward or nonchalant.

"Just playing," Ian laughed, plopping down next to him. "No, but really, you good at math?" He asked curiously, eyeing Mickey's homework passively. It was interesting, the way Ian was talking to him. He was known for being a douche.

"I guess," he feigned indifference, though the way his cheeks flared up gave away his interest. Play. It. Cool.

"Would you wanna tutor me? I'm shitty at math and Mandy told me to ask you, so," he shrugged, leaning back into the couch.

Mickey shifted in his seat, gnawing on his lower lip as he set his pencil down. "What's in it for me?" He asked, raising a single brow, turning his face to Ian. If he didn't know better, he'd think he was playing it cool.

Ian shrugged, the gentle signs of a smirk beginning to play on his lips by the way the corners of his mouth turned only slightly upward. "Not to be too forward or anything, but," he leaned in to whisper in Mickey's ear, and the result nearly gave him heart palpitations. "I think you kinda want to," he murmured, hot breath fanning over Mickey's skin in a way that caused goosebumps to race down his arms.

"You're- bold," Mickey squeaked, cheeks ruddy. "I, uhm," he stuttered eloquently, "I would like to tutor you, yes," he settled on, mentally slapping himself. He most definitely sucked at playing it cool. Whatever.

"Excellent," Ian chirped, pulling away abruptly in a way that had Mickey missing his scent. He smelled like Irish spring body wash and natural musk. It was nearly intoxicating.

He couldn't believe his unbelievably obvious he was, and how easy it was for Ian to uncover his petty crush. Oh well.

The first study session didn't contain a whole lot of studying, per se, but it wasn't all for naught. Mickey hadn't ever tutored anyone, he'd always been a little too.. awkward, or standoffish.
