 Katherine's POV

Once Clara was passed out on the floor and Skylar was slowly thawing out I decided it would be a great idea to leave my cousin, who was currently hyperventilating, and go for a walk.

I walked down the street and turned the corner. I had absolutely no idea where I was going. All I knew was that I smelt a pretzel stand somewhere nearby , and I never got to eat lunch.

I followed the smell of salt and grease until I came across a small pretzel cart parked in the entrance to an alleyway. The guy running the cart looked about seventeen, only a year older than me, with dark black hair that totally clashed with his bright blue eyes. His name tag read Hello. My name is: Oliver.

"Hi. What can I get you today?" he asks me.

"I'll have a...um.." I pondered over what I should get. Probably making a fool out of myself. But how are you supposed to concentrate when a cute boy is staring at you like you're crazy.

"Is there a problem?" I asked him.

He walked over from around the cart and stood right in front of me. "Are you one of," his voice dropped to a whisper, "of them."

If I didn't know what he was talking about I would have been really tempted to take out my phone and call the local insane asylum. To a normal person, this boy was crazy. To me, he was another one. He was another fairy.

"I might be. Are you?" I whispered back.

He points to a silver watch on his wrist. "What do you think?"

"I think, we have more in common then we think." I point to the leaf necklace hanging around my neck.

He tenses and, without giving me time to react, he grabbed my arm and dragged me behind the cart and to the center of the alleyway. When he released my arm he looked me straight in the eye and said, "You're Katherine Links. Fairy of Autumn."

I just stood there and gaped at him. "How do you know who I am?" I asked, completely dumbfounded.

He pointed to my necklace. "They told us to look for four different girls. One of them would have a silver leaf necklace. Just like yours."

I shrugged "Why am I such a big deal?"

"Katherine, you and your friends, are the queens of the four seasons. You are the ones who control them all. The most powerful."

"One of the most powerful?! How can I be the most-"

Oliver grabbed my arm and pulled me to a metal door in the alleyway. He walks up to it and puts his hand on the center of the door. His hand glowed green and the door swung open. Revealing a long hallway.

He turned to me and held out his hand, "Oliver Idan. Fairy of Spring."

I took a step away from him, "You're a spring fairy. Yeah, that would explain the green glow." I said with disgust in my voice.

He scowled. "And if you were to open the door it would have glowed orange, winter would be ice blue, and summer would be yellow." He was beginning to catch on. Autumn and spring weren't supposed to get along. Spring and summer stuck together, while autumn had winter. Warm with warm and cold with cold. It's just natural.

I pointed down the hallway, "What's down there?" I asked.

"That's the Kingdom of the Fairies. It has four societies. Ver, Aestas, Autumni, and Hibernis." he explained.

"Spring, summer, autumn, and winter." I translated.

He nods, "You are the queen of the Autumni society. And they have been waiting to meet you for fifteen years. They're not waiting any longer." He turns and walk down the hallway. And, having no real other choice, I follow. Preparing myself to meet my people.

Hey Guys! Picture of Katherine's necklace will be on the side.
