Author POV-
Blythe followed the faint directions of her grandmother later that day, going into attic and initiated a search for a black and silver box with her name on it. Once she found it, she found five cassette tapes with a letter.
Babygirl,
There's something we've been keeping from you...
The Eyes are real, but even more than that, only you can help us, well everyone else. They're the ones that killed Alexander and in turn, they killed me. They're not what you think, Babygirl.
It started about 100 years ago, with the Bourgeois family. They moved here from Guadeloupe in 1926 when my mother was a little girl. She became friends with the two twin boys that lived there with their mother for years until their mother died in a freak accident. After that the boys disappeared and people started to disappear as well and were later found dead like Alexander.
Later on, the Legend of The Eyes spread throughout the town to get their kids to behave. My family knew better though, and that was when my mother found out the truth as well as how to save the rest of the town. I found out later that she practiced witchcraft and was able to put the Eyes in a spell that will be broken the night after I perish.
There was a prophecy, if you would, fell upon our family. Within the next four generations, as the Blood Moon rises and the Eyes take their true form, a child will be born to end the fearful and haunting Reign of the Eyes. That child was you, Babygirl.
Listen to all of the tapes, as it will help you end the reign. Now as your parents know of the Prophecy, DO NOT tell them because they will try to stop you.
Now, I know you think I've broken my promise, but I haven't. I'm always looking after you...
Forever.
I love you, Blythe.
-Grandma Hazel
Blythe shuddered at the note before eyeing the tapes. She looked up at the sky and murmured, "Why me?".
