She held the razor tight in her hand as she sat on the bathroom floor; tears were streaming down her face and she couldn't stop them. "I'm sorry." She whispered to no one but herself. She lifted up her shirt so it was resting on her stomach. She pushed down the hem of her jeans so her hip was completely exposed. She placed the cool bit of metal against her skin which made her quiver. She bit hard at her lower lip to stop her lip from trembling. She closed her eyes as she pushed the sharp edge against her pale skin. She took in a large inhale through her nose and held her breath as she slowly slide the sharp edge across her alabaster skin. She let out a few whines from just the pain itself in the extremely sensitive area. She took the razor from her skin and looked down at the two inch cut she had just made. There were small droplets of blood just peeking the top of the skin. She let out a long breath as she rested her head back against the wall. The tears had stopped and she let go of her lip.

She looked over at her arm and swallowed back hard. She raised the razor up to her arm. She placed it on her skin just above her elbow on her upper arm. She ran her tongue along her lips and slowly ran the razor over her skin once more. She let out a quiet whimper from the feeling of the sharp edge digging deeper into her skin. She watched as she dragged it across her arm. She watched the blood start to trickle down her arm from how deep the edge was in her. She watched what she was doing to herself. She was broken. She ran the edge along her arm three more times, the blood only getting worse. Her body relaxed once she was done and she let the blood start to slide down her arm in small waves. She rested her head against the wall, closed her eyes, and focused on her breathing more than the stinging that was coming from not only her arm, but from the small one on her hip. She laid there limply as she held the razor still in her hand.

Spencer was still in Arizona and she knew they would heal up the smallest bit before he got back. He called her every day, and every night just to make sure she was okay. He worried about her when he wasn't with her, and Derek picked on him for it. Penelope said she would stop by every once in awhile to make sure she was okay, and she did that. She usually brought her food or took her out for dinner, but it was nothing more than that.

Once Mavis got enough strength to stand, she pushed herself off of the floor and tossed the razor back in the open drawer. She slammed it closed and looked at herself in the mirror. She was a wreck. She was glad that the mascara she still had on from the night before was waterproof. She grabbed a makeup remover and started to wipe at her eyes to get any remnant of her work makeup off. It wasn't long until she was bare faced. She looked at every tiny freckle she had dotting her skin and every tiny blemish she had from not washing her face as much as she should. She sighed quietly before slowly slipping off the shirt she was wearing and wiggling out of her jeans. She turned on the shower so she could shower for that morning. When she got home from work that night, she passed out on the couch from how tired she was.

She slipped into the shower and let the hot water run over her body. She closed her eyes and stood under the water; the water stinging her fresh cuts. She turned around under the stream and started to run her fingers through her hair so every last bit got wet. She reached forward and grabbed the shampoo, quickly washing her hair since the soap was running down her arm and right into her cuts. She put a little conditioner in her hair, but only at the ends of it. She started to wash her body being weary of the cuts since getting soap in them hurts more than cutting yourself in the first place. She washed her face once she was done washing her body. She turned the water off and reached for the towel she had on the towel rack. She dried off her face and her shoulders before quickly towel drying her hair. Her hair had grown down to her shoulders now, and she had kept up with dying it black. She still had the straight bangs because Spencer liked them the most on her. She didn't really have a preference.

She wrapped the towel around her body and got out of the shower. Her arm was still bleeding which caused her to sigh. The blood was flowing down her arm in the streams the water had made. She grabbed some tissue and placed it against her arm hoping it would at least stop it enough to put a bandaid over it. There was a frantic knock at the front door. Mavis groaned softly and walked out of the bathroom, still in the towel, and over to the front door. She opened it up and Penelope was standing there. She quickly hid her arm behind her back and looked at the perky woman.

"Hi Mavis!" She spoke happily and with a wide smile. She was wearing mostly black today with accents of pink. The look really worked for her. Mavis smiled slightly in response. "I was wondering if you wanted to come back to the station with me and have lunch." She spoke to Mavis who was only an inch shorter than her.

"Yeah...um, let me throw on some clothes and I'll be right out." Mavis spoke. She moved out of the way of the door and motioned for Penelope to come in. She took a step inside and Mavis closed the door behind her. Mavis walked off to the bedroom where she got dressed in dark blue skinny jeans with holes in the knee's and a loose white tank top. She shuffled through Spencer's cardigans until she found a dark blue one that matched her jeans. She took the tissue from her arm and replaced it with a bandaid that he had in his night table. She slipped on the blue cardigan as well as her white high tops and walked out to Penelope.

When Penelope saw Mavis, she smiled wide. "Look at how cute you look!" She squealed. "Oh wait until Reid sees you!" She giggled. Mavis blushed deeply as she looked away from Penelope. "Come on!" She spoke in an excited tone. Mavis grabbed her purse and took out the key. She followed Penelope out of the apartment, making sure to lock it up behind them.

A few hours later after they had gone to Penelope's favorite sushi place for lunch, they were headed back to her office. She had told Mavis all about Spencer's past and small fun facts she knew Spencer would never tell Mavis. She was carrying two mugs of tea and Mavis was carrying a bowl of popcorn freshly popped. Penelope walked into her office and set the mugs down on the table, pushing one over to the seat Mavis had been sitting in. Mavis closed the door behind her and moved to her seat. She sat down in the chair next to Penelope, her legs folded under her and the bowl of popcorn in her lap. "So Spencer really-" Mavis started saying but Penelope's computer started to ring.

Penelope pressed the enter button on her keyboard and the screen changed to a video call with Spencer and Derek. "Look who it is. My two favorite men." Penelope spoke with a smirk.

"Hey baby girl. Do you have any news for us?" Derek spoke as he sat on half of the table. Reid was almost mimicking the way he was sitting. Reid looked closely into the camera, his eyes almost squinted shut as he noticed Mavis sitting there. She noticed his gaze and waved at him before popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth.

"Is that mine?" He mumbled into the computer. Mavis giggled and nodded as she spun around in the chair.

"And she's rocking it, Reid. You better step up your game." Morgan spoke with a small smirk. Mavis giggled and she could feel her cheeks flush with color.

"I have a few names for you and I'm sending them your way." Penelope spoke as her fingers glided over the keys just to send a simple email to her coworker.

"You're a miracle worker baby." Derek spoke as he looked at his phone going over the names he was just sent.

"I can't take all the blame for this one. Mrs. Reid over here helped me narrow my search down." Penelope spoke as she looked over at Mavis. She winked her way and Mavis immediately got extremely shy. "Penelope out." She spoke as she clicked a button on her keyboard to close the chat down.

Derek looked over at Spencer, one of his eyebrows raised. "Who was that?" He spoke to Spencer. Spencer kept his gaze away from Derek's not wanting to see any judgment he might throw his way.

"You um...remember that local case we worked a few months ago, and we brought in the victim and she would only talk to me?" Spencer spoke softly as he finally looked up at Derek. He mumbled out a small yeah before it finally hit him.

"That isn't her." He spoke out in disbelief. Spencer had a facial expression that said sorry it is. "My man!" Derek spoke with his wide pearly smile. He placed his hand on Spencer's shoulder and his smile stayed. "Don't let her slip." He spoke to him like he was his older brother. Spencer smiled awkwardly and nodded.

"I...I didn't plan on it."
