So, this is my first book. And I'll really appreciate it if you give this a chance. I really need your thoughts about this story if I should continue or not.. So, here it goes..

Prologue

●●●

SUMMER IS COMING to an end. And my brother has just the best timing for asking me a favor.

Note the sarcasm.

"So, listen Andy," Travis says through the phone. "I need you to fly over to Cali and attend the Montgomery annual party,"

I almost sputtered my iced tea through my nose. "Wh-what?!"

"Go to Cali—"

I cut him off. "I already got that. The next part,"

"The Montgomery annual party. You know, the ones with the formal attires, with business and important people.." He trailed off. "The one where you..."

"Don't. You. Dare," My eyes widen and I got the urge to smack him upside the head, but then again he wasn't here.

"Please, just this once. I have something really important to do," He says in a pleading tone.

"You know, I know, everybody knows, ever since the incident, I swore to God that I won't ever come back to that place with that kind of people. Who knows, maybe some of them might still recognize me," I scowled into the distance.

"Please, please, please, please, please," He repeated over and over again.

Every year, just like a tradition, the Montgomery enterprises always throw parties. It consists of higher class people, the ones who owns huge companies, in short its about business. And my family happens to be associated with them.

Three years back, all the way from New York, we flew over to L.A. It just happens that the theme of the party was black and white. And so the party went on, I was fourteen that time. I just had the juice served in the buffet tables, it was tinted blood red. And couple minutes after I drunk my second glass, I started to feel dizzy and funny at the same time. I got this adrenaline feeling all over me, so I went on the dance floor and danced like the lunatic that I am. Some people started laughing, and I laughed with them. Several minutes later when the alcohol has gone off my body and I can say that I'm a little sober, people started whispering things, pointing at me. I searched the room, and my eyes frantically roamed for my family - Travis and my dad, but they're nowhere in sight.

Tears had gathered before my eyes, my lips wobbled with embarrassment. Some certain people caught my attention, they were laughing so hard it almost looks painful. I started to step back and when I turned to run my way out, I was greeted by the stupid punch bowl. It had spilled all over me, and I just happened to wear a sparkly white cocktail.

You get the picture right?

The odds aren't in my favor, really.

Gasps filled the room, and a hand offered to help me up. I glanced to the person, and back down to my juice-stained dress. Yes, he offered to help me, but he still got the nerve to laugh in front of my face? That douchebag. Not long after, everybody started to laugh too. I'm sure my cheeks are as red as this stupid spiked juice. I glared at him through my lashes, anger taking over me. I pushed my tears back and stood my ground. I rushed outside the ballroom place and into the lobby. My dad and Travis were there, talking to the hosts of the said party. Their eyes trailed over me and my red stained dress.

After that, I found out that the punch bowl was spiked with not just alcohol but vodka. Lots of it. And I vowed to never come back again, and punch the life out of that douchebag who happens to be one of the Montgomery's sons.

Fingers snapped before my eyes that took me back to reality. It was my friend, Amanda. "You're spacing out again." Her brows furrowed. "I think your brother is still on the phone."

And she was right, I glanced at it. Its been four minutes since Travis started chanting please, please, please... over and over again.

One thing I'm never getting used to about my brother is that he's persistent. Even if its not relevant, he'll always get what he wants.

"Gah! What are you four?!" I said, irritation clear in my voice. "Fine! Whatever!"

He took a deep breath. "Thank you, thank you. I love you, you know that?" he chuckled.

"Whatever, Trav. Just text me when and where." Even if I already know where it is.

The line went off and I faced Amanda. I sipped my iced tea and ran a hand through my hair. "What have I gotten myself into?"
