Chapter 12

"Wedding gown?"

"Check."

"Entourage list?"

"Check."

"Really?" Farrah gasped, "who're they?!"

"You as the maid of honor, and the brides maids are Alyana, my cousins Holly Callie and Jamie."

"Oh, I miss those girls, the trio! How're they?"

I shrugged, "they're fine. They call me as much as they can, you know the norm."

My cousins Holly, Callie and Jamie were all sisters and I envied them greatly. Their parents doctors that's why they always moved from one place to another. They call me as much as then can, but it's hard to find a phone if you're in a middle of no where like Antarctica. It was a good thing that I would see them in my wedding though.

"And who are the grooms men or whatever they call it?"

"I don't know. Hunter was assigned to choose, so I'm keeping out of it."

"Okay, next is the food. What cuisine is it?"

"Mom said it would be good if we just had Italian. Surprisingly both Hunter and I love Italian cuisine," I replied.

"So it's a check or not?"

"Most definitely a check," I nodded.

"Flowers?"

"Check."

"That's all it here in your mom's list. You still have to buy me that ice cream you promised me," Farrah pouted. "I can't believe I didn't go to school just to help you with the fitting when your mom had to go all the way to Canada suddenly."

"That's because you're my supportive best friend and she said she has a surprise for me waiting at home." I said, pulling her into Bobby's Ice Cream Shoppe.

"I want a Strawberry Twist with sprinkles and M&M's in a large cone," she ordered. "How 'bout you, Val?"

"I'll have the Choco Mint Chip with chocolate fudge in a medium cup." I said, taking out my wallet and paid for our ice creams.

"How did you know she has a surprise for you?" She asked, taking a seat in front of me.

"Here, take a look of this. You know how much I hate surprises." I mumbled, handing her my phone.

"Hey dear, had an emergency in Canada. Ask Farrah to help you with the dress fitting today. I'm sorry. Love, mom." Farrah made a face, "I can't believe she's pass this up."

"Give her a break, Far. She's busy with the company. Hopefully I won't end up like her one day." I muttered the last part to myself.

"But you know she loves going on business trips in important moments. Like that one time that you won best dancer of the year, where was she?"

"In Australia."

"And that time when you fell off a tree and couldn't walk for a month?"

"In Japan."

"How about when we graduated middle school?"

"Brazil." I sighed. She was right. This was not the first time, and it will certainly not be the last. I hung my head and looked at my melted ice cream.

"I'm sorry, Val, but your mom is just so annoying sometimes that I can't handle it."

I had to agree with her. My mom is a control freak who loved perfection. That's why I studied so hard, just to reach her expectations.
