Chapter 30
{Wedding bells are ringing, we all know what day it is!}
"Rise and shine, Valentine!" Someone ripped off the covers off of me.
"Go away! I'm catching on my lack of sleep," I moaned.
It was true though. I was lacking sleep these past days. It was all busy, busy, busy. It was great to have my peace last night because I got home early after a book club meeting with Jamie. I went to bed exactly eleven o' clock and I dozed off a few seconds after that. And now, someone was bouncing on my bed screaming like a banshee.
"But Val! It's your wedding day!! We have so much work to do!"
I sat up, rubbing my eyes in defeat. No one could tell these lot to shut up and leave me alone. They pushed me into the shower and told me I had only five minutes to take a bath. I took my time though. As soon as I got out, they forced me to sit down and began curling my hair and applying make up on me, all at once. Just then I realized that I was surrounded by my friends. My mom was hurrying in and out of my room, carrying various items.
Since the theme is violet-ish," Callie said, applying lavender eye shadow on me.
"Here's some glitter! To make her shimmer more." Hollie passed a tube to Callie and she immediately checked on my curls.
"We didn't want it too tight," Hollie said, while putting some flowers on my hair.
"Flower crowns are too mainstream!" Farrah cried as she barged in holding a box.
"You grandmother told me to give this to you. She says you should wear it," she said and placed the box on the table in front of me.
"The dress, guys! She's ready for the dress!" Jamie said loudly.
I just sat there, dazed and thankful that I had my best friends with me through all of this dramatic chaos. Someone brought in a bag that obviously contained my wedding dress. They carefully pulled it out and I gratefully put it on. I took my sweet time of course. I loved the feeling of the satin as the lining of my dress, the lace, the material, the embroidery, everything. I just loved my dress, in general. I felt like a princess.
"Now don't cry! You're going to ruin the make-up!" Jamie said, dabbing my eyes with a tissue carefully.
"I feel like a princess," I say aloud.
"And you look like one too." Mom said, walking towards me. "You're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, Valentine. You have a good heart and you deserve to be treated as a princess."
She kissed my cheek and put earrings on me. Then, she clasped a beautiful necklace, and she brushed a stray lock of hair off my face. "Today is your day, Val. Don't let anyone ruin it for you, okay?" She smiled.
I nodded and pulled her into a hug. "I love you, mom."
"I love you too," she whispered to me.
I noticed that everyone was gone. "Where did everyone go?"
"They're putting on their gowns. Now let's go to the limo." She says quickly and pulled me out of my room. "I prepared your suit case for your honeymoon of course, you don't have to worry about what you're going to wear. I had it all covered. You leave tomorrow for your honeymoon but you're staying in a hotel with Hunter tonight. You're going to twelve different places in six months. I know you and Hunter must be worries about school, but we talked to your schools and they agreed that you start later than everyone due to certain circumstances."
I was simply gaping at her. Twelve places in six months? Was she out out her mind?
"Me and Kristine packed for the both of you, so you don't have to worry about a thing. Plus, you're going to use our credit cards as our other wedding gift. You can buy whatever you want, of course. You have five suit cases, so don't forget it. It all has your name on it and a pad lock so you won't easily get into it. I'll give you the key later."
