  Stevie POV 1979

  Stevie says to Morris

  "I'd like to go forward and see Wendy's first day of school."

  Morris Buckingham replies

  "You want to see my granddaughter all pretty for kindergarten?"

  "Well let's do this!"

  Stevie has the feeling of the world spinning around her for a moment then it passes. She's standing in Wendy's room.

  Stevie POV 1981 alternate reality

  Stevie is brushing her long dark blonde hair as Wendy says to her

  "Mommy what if the other kids don't like me and are mean to me?" 

  Stevie stops brushing and starts to put white ribbons in Wendy's hair. She responds to her

  "Sweetgirl everyone will love you, you will be the prettiest little thing they've ever seen!"

  Stevie points at the mirror sitting attached to Wendy's dresser and says

  "Look at Wendy Lynn Buckingham!"

  "Not only is she the sweetest nicest little girl in the world, she's the prettiest."

  Wendy manages to giggle a little bit and says

  "I'm want to be beautiful like you mommy!"

  Stevie feels tears threaten to spill from her eyes. She then she sees Lindsey come up behind them both in the mirror and say

  "Is my big girl ready for her first day of school?"

  Stevie responds

  "She's had breakfast and is all packed up and ready for her big day, right sweetgirl?"

  Lindsey replies

  "Oh I love those pretty ribbons in your hair!"

  "You know daddy is a sucker for a girl like that."

  Stevie and Wendy say at the same time

  "We know"

  Lindsey wraps his arms around Stevie from behind her and she thinks

  "He's very sweet but I can tell the difference between him and my Lindsey. I wish my Lindsey was nice like him...well maybe not in the bedroom!"

  Stevie shakes off her reverie as she gets herself and Wendy into her car. Lindsey shuts the car door and wishes them a good day. Soon enough Stevie and Wendy are on the way to school. Wendy says to Stevie as she drives

  "Mommy I want to stay with you in your class and sing all day!"

  Stevie pats Wendy on the knee and says

  "Honey you know you have to go to your class in Mrs Johnsons room."

  "But I'll eat lunch with you and walk you in and out of your class."

  Wendy replies with big tears in her eyes

  "Okay mommy I'm just going to miss you!"

  Stevie responds

  "You are going to be fine my sweetgirl, you are going to have so much fun today!"

  "How about we sing a song on the way to school?"
