Magdalyn 'Magic' James

I haven't seen Jeremy in days. I laid there on the floor covered in my own pee because there's no way for me to reach a bathroom. Just as I thought that I would go another day without seeing another person the door opened and Jeremy bounced down the stairs like he had just been told he won the lottery. He grabbed a chair from the corner and dragged it over to me.

"You smell fucking horrible." He said.

What am I supposed to do? There no other way for me to get to a bathroom.

"Don't answer, I know you probably can't." He said with a little laugh.

He was right. The last time there were down here I'm guessing he was having a bad day because he walked down here, came over, and started hitting me. He was kicking and punching me in the face and in my stomach and sides. One punch he threw hit me on the side of the mouth and I heard a loud cracking noise. I think it might be broken because any time I go to move my mouth the pain in my face is excruciating.

The only thing that I could do was lay there and focus on breathing through my nose and not trying to move too much because that would only make it hurt more.

What is he so damn happy about?

"You know we're having company today and if all goes well you might go home." he laughed a little to himself. "And if it doesn't you will die and so will he."

It wasn't long before this so called company was being escorted in from upstairs. I only had one good eye to see out of but my soul leap with joy when I spotted Kirshnik coming down those stairs. He looked at me then over at Jeremy and I swear if looks could kill Jeremy would be dead. I watched his eyes scanning the room as he came down the stairs.

"I trust that my friend did his job and made sure you didn't have any weapons on you before you guys came down here." Jeremy said looking right past Kirshnik to the guy behind him.

"Yes sir, he don't even have a phone on him." the man replied.

"Okay, so this is how it's going to work. You give me what I want and I'll let you take her and scurry on home." he said.

Kirshnik let the bag fall off his shoulder and he set it down on the floor. "There's your stuff, now give her to me."

Jeremy laughed again. "Why you in such a rush to leave?" he asked.

"Just give me Maggie and let us go." He begged.

Jeremy stood up from the chair. "You don't think that imma let you go without checking to make sure everything was in order first." He crossed the room and grabbed the bag from the floor. He opened it and pulled out what looked like a pillow wrapped in packing tape. He started ripping at the tape and the plastic and once he got it open the familiar smell of laundry detergent began to fill the room. I would have laughed if I could have moved my mouth.

"Is this-"

"Laundry detergent. You got about a week's worth of laundry in your hand right there." Kirshnik replied.

"You really fucked up." Jeremy sneered.

"No, you did." Kirshnik replied. He reached back and threw a punch hitting Jeremy right in the chin. Jeremy stumbled back and fell on the floor nearly falling on top of me. The guy that was behind Kirshnik wrapped his arm around his neck but he was faster than him. That's the thing about big guys, they're good for intimidation but not too good in a fight because they're slow. He got away from him easy and started wrestling with the man still trying to get his arms around him. Jeremy got up from the floor holding his mouth. He reached into the back of his pants and pulled out a gun.

He was going to kill him. With all of the strength that I could muster I opened my mouth and screamed. "Kirshnik!" it came out as nothing more than a gurgled mess but he heard me because he turned around but before he could move Jeremy fired two shots.
