A long sigh escaped Kurt's mouth as he closed the tab. Why was this occupying his mind constantly? It was seriously distracting, especially during Glee.

He just shook his head to himself and went about getting ready for going to Breadstix with Mercedes.

He had already spent his usual morning routine of 1 hour on his skin care, he put more time into caring for it before he went to sleep. So he instead went straight to his cupboard, opening the doors and rummaging through his neatly organised clothes.

Eventually, he had narrowed it down to two outfits, laying them on his bed and looking down at them with his hands on his hips; one of them consisted of a nice, red jacket with a plain white dress shirt and a black tie, along with simple jeans and a belt to top it off. The other was put together with a blue and white striped button-up, dark black trousers, a fashionable yellow coat, and yellow boots.

Deciding to go with the former, he put away the other outfit and quickly took off his pyjamas and slipped into his outfit for the day.

Grabbing his comb from his bedside table, Kurt sat down at his vanity table. Checking the clock on the wall, he realised that Mercedes would be at his house to pick him up in 20 minutes.

He combed his hair into shape in record time and pulled open his top right draw, grabbing his hair spray and spraying it all over his hair.

Finally, he was ready, with 5 minutes to spare. He stepped back and in front of his mirror which hung on the inside of his cupboard doors.

Sighing deeply, Kurt took in his outfit. He knew that he dressed quite differently from other boys his age and he knew that it offended and only egged on his bullies more but Kurt was who he was, and he would never apologise for being himself.

He also knew that his dad didn't appreciate his very out there sense of fashion. He knew his dad would much prefer Kurt to wear baggy, ripped jeans and a flannel or a plain t-shirt. But that just wasn't Kurt. Like he'd said - or rather thought - so many times before, Kurt was who he wanted to be and if anyone had a problem with it, he wouldn't change anything about himself just for their satisfaction.

Appearing at the front door was none other than his best friend, standing there in all her glory. They took her car and on the way discussed gossip ("They broke up again?!? But it's only been, like, three weeks") and fashion ("Seriously, you have got to stop dressing like a technicolour zebra") and anything else that crossed their minds. Even though they had gone through the whole 'I thought we were dating but you're gay' thing, Kurt still took her out to keep her company. In all honesty, though, he needed it too.

They ordered their usual with a dessert of cheesecake of course. Eventually the conversation changed to Mercedes saying "I need a boyfriend" and Kurt agreeing with a defeated "Tell me about it." They ended it there and ate in silence.

Kurt arrived home to almost silence, apart from the distant sound of a football game which he assumed was being played on the TV.

Taking off his coat and hanging it on one of the coat hooks by the door, Kurt walked through to the living room where he found his dad slumped against the couch, watching a football game, as Kurt had predicted.

"Hey Dad."

Burt sighed and muted the TV, turning his head round slightly to half-face Kurt, "How's Mercedes doin'?"
